Nice and easy
Good stuff. I used it to refresh a sun damaged pine plank wall and it helped alot. Not messy and didn't take long to wipe on. Also leaves a nice smell after a day or two of a bit of strong smell

Giles and Kendall has the best quality I've found
I wanted to refresh my cedar blocks and tried 3 different cedar oils on Amazon. Seems the big boxes don't carry it in store. All 3 were approximately the same price. One turned out to be a cedar spray, which is made by putting a small amount of oil into water. That fact was hidden until delivery and the product was returned. The other brand didn't smell like cedar, not even when applied to cedar blocks and permitted to dry. It had a rather chemical smell. The Giles and Kendall Oil was the best overall. I paid $40 for 2 8 oz cans, so the new price of $35 ($33 with sub n save) is a big plus. I refreshed my cedar blocks by standing them on end and using an eye dropper to drop the oil onto the blocks and let it soak in. I then flipped them and treated the end grain on the other end.Once this was done, I decided I needed more cedar blocks to add to all my drawers and stored clothing. There are good prices for that as well on Amazon. We needed so many though, that we bought the Giles and Kendall closet liner planks (available on Amazon or at local big box stores). We cut those planks to approximately 3" and treated them with additional oil. Even though they were new, they still soaked up a lot of oil, and I didn't want to put off doing it since everything was already out.The cedar oil can also be used to make a pet spray for application on the dog, as well as for a yard spray to help keep fleas and ticks at bay.The twist lid was extremely difficult to loosen, we had to resort to pliers. After that's done, then you have to deal with the metal plug. Trying to pry it out from the side doesn't work, so we used an ice pick (a nail would work as well). We tapped the pick into the plug and tilted it out.Since the oil doesn't come with a dropper, I purchased a set of 12 1/2 ounce dark glass bottles with dropper lids from Amazon and decanted my oil into those to store use and share.I highly recommend this cedar oil.

Smells like cedar...with a hint of peanut butter
Overall good, less strong than I had hoped and has a peanut butter undertone, but nice

Ease of use
Great product increased the cedar smell in the closets. Easy to apply and the smell will last for two or three months.

Total Game Changer
I should start by saying I love this stuff so much I use it every day. I can’t get enough of the way it smells. I have one in my office and one at home, and I’ve purchased it twice (although once from a retailer). The scent is very earthy... people who come in to my office compliment the smell all the time. The only less than positive Comments I’ll make is that the smell doesn’t seem to linger as well as the bottle I used to have. My old bottle lasted me for well over a year. I bought two bottles recently and I’m almost out. Also, the two bottles I have now don’t actually smell exactly the same. But if you don’t have the annoying super power of smell like I do, I doubt you’ll care. It’s still worth buying.Oh! And I’ve noticed it kinda keeps bugs away from my shoes when I go out for a walk. So bonus!

Use sparingly. Excellent Product.
Very potent. Smells just like a Western Red Cedar. Does not smell like Incense cedar or Port Orford Cedar. Make sure you know the difference before you buy. The directions start by telling the user to sand the wood and check out the degree of remaining scent before using this product. If the aroma comes back, they suggest not using this product. (Because it is REALLY strong!) So, if you use it, apply very sparingly and out of doors in the morning and leave your furniture in the sun for the rest of the day to let it soak in and air out. If you want to use it in pet bedding, I would suggest applying the product sparingly to a rag and put it under the bedding. It is easy to get it so strong that your pet cannot endure it. It will wash off somewhat, but what's under the bedding can always be removed totally. One can should treat about 30 average size Cedar Chests. My guess is that most treatments on most absorbent material (read "wood") will last for multiple years. Very pleased.

Wonderful Cedar Oil!
I use a small paint brush to paint this oil on my bare-wood cedar linen closet doors once a year. Also, each year, I soak round cedar rings for hangers in this cedar oil in a canning jar for a day or two, lay them on a piece of cotton rag to dry a bit, them put them back on my hangers to repel moths. I have coats wool coats from the 1940's still in good repair this way. I hang a small piece of cotton cloth or cotton balls soaked in cedar oil and pin them to door screens and window screens to help repel wasps, flies, gnats and mosquitoes. I also rub a little on my ankles to keep the ticks & fleas away when walking in the woods. Once a year I very thoroughly clean, sanitize and disinfect my cement block milk-house-turned-henhouse and paint cedar oil on the wooden door and window sills to repel bugs from my hens. It's great for making all my wood furniture shine, too!

I think this product is old
I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I bought this same cedar oil from another store and it was clear and a normal cedar smell, this is brown and smells kind of funky/rancid. I should've know 2/$40 wasn't going to work out.
