Entry level racing track. Requires gentle handling for longevity
My grandsons aged five and two love playing with this racetrack. That said, it’s unfortunate that the track and cars are really too fragile for young boys. The tabs holding the corner rails on the track break easily, track connection and disconnection have to be made with track flat otherwise metal rails bend, and the spoilers on two of the cars are easily broken. It can be difficult to repair the bent metal rails (conductors) on the track pieces if the track is not carefully disassembled. Track assembly and maintenance requires adult action. The scant instructions for assembling the track are printed on the box; there is no separate printed documentation. No two cars run at the same speed so head-to-head racing will invariably result in the same car winning. The headlights on one of the cars don’t light up; it happens to be fastest of the four cars, so maybe it is making use of the additional power. The cars stay on track better (i.e., go slower) as the eight AA batteries decrease in voltage. The trigger on controllers doesn’t vary speed very much if at all. I disassembled one of the controllers and discovered that it contains a very crude potentiometer that is meant to vary the speed but the poor craftsmanship prevents it from functioning. A set of eight batteries powers the cars for many hours.

Bummed kiddo for Christmas
My son was beyond excited when he opened this race car track gift up on Christmas morning. Once the hustle and bustle slowed he and I sat down to race. The track was extremely easy to assemble so that was a huge plus. As the excitement reached its peek the assembly was complete. He and I picked our cars and placed them in the slots. A quick pull of the trigger and in lane number one nothing. Lane number 2 the car took about and in about 12 inches halted to a stop. I checked all of the track connections and verified all was connected correctly. We grabbed the other 2 cars and gave them a whirl. Boom lane 1 the car shot off like a rocket and began cruising around the track. Lane 2 absolutely nothing. I took the car from lane 2 and put it on lane 1 knowing that car worked. It shot off and ran for about half the track and halted. I little nudge and it took off again evenly keeping enough momentum to cruise around the track. It was intermittent unfortunately. Once again I verified all connections and even used my voltage tester to check all batteries. They tested at 1.5 volts. Needless to say I had a very bummed kiddo. I am just glad Santa didn’t bring it. The exchange option is the worst part, we just wanted to exchange it for another but it will only permit a refund. I would not recommend this product at all.

Good old days came back
It was always a dream of mine too but slot cars and I finally bought it after so many year. These cars are so fast that it feels like race cars and are quite durable. The good part is they don't need a battery so I don't have to worry about charging and stuff. The size of the track is quite big and is very stable. It handles the speed of the car well.I would have preferred more loops but that would have come with a price so I am fine with current product. It gives me nostalgia when I use it.

What a surprise!
I wasn't sure how good of a race track this would be based on the price compared to many others. Turned out this is a great track set. Super easy to put together and it's ready to go. I remember these types of tracks when I was a kid and the biggest problem was that the cars would come off the track all the time. Not these. We had the cars flying around the track full throttle and they stuck to the track like they were glued on. The kids loved it. Super good buy.

Kids loved it
My kids loved it, when both cars passed on the track one would sometimes fall off. My son put it together his self and broke it sadly so it didn't last long after the first time we put it together.
