action packed
This had more action and was more interesting than the previous volume. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead in this series.

A fantastic new addition to Shounen
The world and characters are familiar archetypes of the shounen universe, but where this shines is in its characters (and art style!). I love the introduction of an older shounen protagonist, which adds a much-needed gravity in terms of the expense of their sacrifice. And it's not just played off for laughs; him being older adds depth and nuance, wonderfully integrating his dynamic into the sphere of a younger generation. And they are hilarious together. The art style is distinct and gorgeous when combined with the character designs, making it visually appealing. I can't wait for the second installment.

Legible and in good condition but later in my book some of the ink was light on a few pages i’m not sure if that was intended by the artist, but I could still read it

Meet The Team
Volume 2 of Kaiju No 8 does a great job of cementing one of my favorite friendship I have encountered in all of manga. Kikoru and Kafka are real buds. Sorry Reno you're cool to in a Genos from One Punch Man way but they just steal the spot light. Volume 2 does a great job of introducing us to a lot of the cast. From captains to new recruits there are many new faces. And yet Naoya Matsumoto does a good job of helping them stand out.It still has that trade mark sense of humor especially in the first half. But my goodness it is not afraid to get serious. Will Kafka rise to the occasion or will be succumb to his Kaiju side. Only time will tell. Also As final exciting note the anime has been announced. So if you want to know what the community will be buzzing about, now is a perfect time to jump into the world of Kaiju No 8. -MickManga
