Pro Products Res Care Liquid Water Softener Cleaner, Universal Cleanser for Hardwater Systems, Unscented, 64 oz

I use this in my Culligan water softner and it works very well.

I have been using Rescare cleaner for a couple of years now. I have a clear jar that I marked with a half cup measurement to dump into the brine tank every two weeks. That is about how often our softener regenerates. You can tell when the softener regenerates when you take that morning shower and feel how the water does feel so much softer like the first day you installed your softener. I mainly started using this as our water supply from the county does have a bit of iron in it. I use a whole house filter with a string cartridge and you can see the dark orange color appear after about a year's use of water. Whatever the whole house filter doesn't get, Rescare cleaner will clean it from the resin and make it last longer. This product is hydrochloric acid so be really careful with it. I always have a damp paper towel in my hand to put under the glass jar before I pour the acid into it. You will get some drops that will want to slide down the container so after pouring just quickly catch that with the damp paper towel before putting it all away. There are other products out there and I had tried them but none even comes close to this one. I am ordering another gallon today, 7/11/2023. I find I use a gallon about every six or seven months. Get this, you will love it!

ResCare worked as it is supposed to and the process is very easy. It definitely cleaned the resin by removing a good amount of buildup. The water quality has improved after using it for the first time. TDS (total dissolved solids) levels went down after use indicating better softener performance. In addition to the product working well, I was impressed with the customer service by Pro Products. I called their support line (the number listed on the label) and there was no wait at all. The support representative was able to very clearly answer my question and was very friendly and professional.Just in case this helps anyone else with the same question: I called about using their other product called Rust Out after using ResCare. Specifically, I wanted to know if I could use Rust Out after running a regen cycle with ResCare. They said that the ResCare should be fully flushed out during the regen cycle, so you can use Rust Out after without issues. So to be clear, don't mix the two (and never just go casually mixing chemicals if you are unsure), but if you have run a regen cycle with either product it should be fully flushed out and you can use the other product during the next regen cycle. After they advised me on this issue I used the Rust Out (after using the ResCare in the previous regen cycle) without any issues.

We live north of San Antonio TX and our well water is like liquid cement. We always use high quality salt and pre-filter and rinse sediment out of our brine tank every year.However, five years into using the Kinetico, we lost all soft water, manually ran cycles and checked our brine tank float (7 3/4") and so forth. Kinetico said they could replace the resin for about $600 including service call and resin/labor but the tech said to try ResCare- apply the first dose as indicated and then just apply about 1/4 cup every week on a day you remember. They'd rather send out techs who really need critical service and not get backlogged so it was a win-win.Within 24 hours, we noticed when showering the water a little softer for the first time in about three months.By 48 hours, it was back to 100% soft water.It's an amazing product- period- at least with our extremely hard, limestone aquifer-based well water in Central Texas.

Been using this for years. Extends the life of your resin bed, by keeping it clean. Ran out, needed more.

Have a nearly 20 year old potassium chloride water softener. Noticed it was not as soft after regeneration as it used to be. Research suggested a product like ResCare might improve the situation by removing some of the buildup on the resin. It did, although it took a couple of uses to make up for the years of neglect. Not sure it is as good as brand new, but absolutely made a significant improvement. Have started using this all the time and have reordered it.

It is one of those products that you are never quite sure it is effective as it is a preventive solution.I used the product as instructed and had no problems.I was buying it through Subscribe & Save but it was dropped and the price doubled. Time to look for an alternative.
