Good for travel and hiking
Bought two of these for my boyfriend and I to keep in our hiking backpacks as emergency raingear for a 20 mile day hike. Did not have to use them for the rain that day, but they do work as an added layer for cooler temps. I did use it in the rain a few days prior and it worked quite well, however it was definitely not in a torrential downpour, soaking rain environment so I'm not sure how well these would hold up under those conditions. I feel like Gore-Tex is really the only thing that would keep one dry in weather like that, and you're definitely gonna have to pay a lot more for Gore-Tex products. For what it is, it worked well in minimal rain. It was almost like wearing an umbrella. I appreciate the way it packs up small inside the front zipper pocket. This is a good purchase for warmer weather as it's not very heavy and has a little bit of underarm ventilation. For reference, I am a 5' 8" woman, 170 lbs., size 12 and I went with the size Large. The Medium fit but the hood was not deep enough for me, and I generally like a little more room, especially if I would ever want to layer something under this. The sleeves were a great deal long, but rolling them up a couple times fixed that. My boyfriend is 6'1" and maybe 220lbs. The XL fit him well. I will say, the shoulders were different on the two colors we got. The color blocked version he has has raglan sleeves. The solid color that I got, did not. This might matter to some.

Pretty good, but a bit small
I normally purchase my outdoor gear from LL Bean or Bass Pro, so using Amazon for this kind of thing is a first for me. Seems all the major companies are buying from outside the US, so I figured I might as well try this one. It's made int the United Arab Emirates...go figure.Anyhow, about the product. The fit is a bit smaller than what I would have liked. In the photos I'm wearing a Tee and a merino wool top. I was hoping to be able to layer under this, but...it's all good. I could maybe wear a thin coat and not be too uncomfortable.Based on my first wear in a light rain, it keeps the water off (way better than the Bean version) and it's packable(like the Bean version). It has air holes under the arms so you don't get too hot. It's comfortable, but a little noisey for still hunting(if you're into that, I'm still gonna give it a go).Only thing I can complain about is the pockets seem to open a bit of their own accord and they get a little water running into them. Kind of a bummer, but I've dealt with worse.I would buy this product again, but I get a bigger size.Edit 19 May 2023Did a test the other day. We had a good Midwestern storm come through, heavy rain and some winds. I stood in the rain until my pants were pretty wet. When I went back in the house and took the anorak off, my shirt was completely dry. Loving this anorak a bit more now.

Great material
. 100% recommend this product. I’m 5’4” 150 pounds. 36 chest. Alittle big just how I like it . This gives me enough shoulder room. And I can wear a thick sweatshirt underneath no problem. I love the zipper pocket.

Withstands the rain, cold and wind - great travel jacket!
So glad I took this on my trip to Scotland. The weather was all over the place and this jacket was so clutch. It’s lightweight but can easily be layered with a sweater underneath. Even by itself it cuts the wind the ease. The picture is from a hike on a crazy windy day as you can see from hair. Without this jacket the hike would have been miserable. Extremely waterproof too! From light sprinkling to heavy rain, this jacket did not disappoint. I wore this golfing and it was definitely appropriate to wear on the course. The jacket has a loose fit but I would say it runs true to size. I normally wear a size small and the small fit great. Enough room to layer underneath but not an overly baggy fit.Added bonus I didn’t realize, you can flip the front pocket inside out and the jacket has its own carrying pouch for easy transport!

Perfect for our upcoming trip to hike the Cascades
PLEASE read all of the reviews that talk about sizing. This item runs large. I am somewhere between a medium and a large, generally getting a large in a pullover like this, intending to wear it as a waterproof layer over a sweatshirt or sweater. I read the reviews and opted for a medium. It's still pretty big, but in a good way. The sleeves are long, yet the elastic keeps them in place above my wrists. But if my hands get cold while hiking? I can pull them down and over for extra warmth. And I definitely have room for a large sweater/sweatshirt underneath, in case it is needed for warmth. It's got an elastic pull with a toggle at the waist to pull that in if you like. Same on the hood - you can secure it on your head. Zippered pocket for secure storage AND kangaroo pockets on the front.Look at the model. That's how mine fits. A bit boxy, but totally cute if you ask me. And practical. Yes, it's lightweight. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. Buy it as a top layer for the hood and waterproofing and I will be STUNNED if you are not happy. At this price I want to go back and buy every color. But as my husband would say, "How many windbreaker pullovers (or insert any other item I am obsessed with at the time) do you truly need? Well, need and want are different discussions, and I WANT this one in every color. :-)I have no earthly understanding of the one star reviews.
