fantastic pictural history of the btcc with all the facts as well.

Meticulously researched and well written. Too often books of this nature are full of poor grammar and factual errors. As an avid follower of the BTCC from 1999 to around 2014ish the quality and accuracy of the coverage of those years gave me great confidence in the rest of the book, and arguably the earlier years were even more interesting to read about, covering all the major moments in BTCC history, from the shootout to decide the very first championship in 1958, Jim Clark's exploits in the 60s, the infamous Rovers of 1983 and that season finale at Silverstone in 1992.But what really stood out was not the detail these "historic" moment received, as that was to be expected honestly, but the depth in which the rest of the seasons and the lesser known drivers and cars received, with equal coverage of each year. I had expected it would cover the early days briefly and linger more on the modern era where the information, points of view, photos, etc are far more readily available.It's a very sizeable book, excellent value at the £40 Amazon was offering it as a pre-order for, but still totally worthwhile even at full price. Excellent photography throughout, with an extraordinary range of cars and races represented.

Written by probably the UKs most authoritative expert on the BTCC this is a substantial book. With superb photographs for each year along with superbly written background and driver focus.Yes this is a substantial book but if you watch on TV or attend the circuits this will become the bible for the sport.

Totally recommend full of many facts and figures

Excellent book, I didn't get into Touring Cars until the mid 1990s so this book is ideal to catch up with the history. There is a nice spread for each year of the championship with plenty of pictures throughout.

Die Texte für jedes Jahr auf einer Seite sind knapp, enthalten jedoch alle wesentlichen Fakten. Zudem werden sie durch die ausführlichen Bildunterschriften bestens ergänzt. Alle Fahrer, die eine Meisterschaft errungen haben, werden im Jahr ihres ersten Titelgewinns porträtiert. Umfangreiches statistisches Material rundet das Buch inhaltlich ab.Es entsteht das Bild einer überaus abwechslungsreichen und spannenden Tourenwagenszene, in der bei jedem Rennen beinhart und mit Blechkontakt um den Sieg gekämpft wurde und in der mit Joachim Winkelhock und Frank Biela auch deutsche Fahrer erfolgreich waren. Die Namen der Titelträger reichen von Jack Sears, Sir John Whitmore und Jim Clark über Bill McGovern, Win Percy, Andy Rouse, Tim Harvey, Alain Menu und Jason Plato bis zu Fabrizio Giovanardi, Gordon Sheddon und Colin Turkington. Und auch der Autor Matt Neal war selbst dreimal britischer Tourenwagenmeister, nämlich 2005, 2006 und 2011.Dementsprechend sind die Texte sowohl leidenschaftlich als auch hochkompetent, die sehr gut reproduzierten rund 600 Fotos zeigen packenden Tourenwagensport vom Feinsten - ein wirklich lohnendes Buch, das eine Marktlücke hervorragend füllt.
