Quite brilliant. The nine coloured buttons are effectively playlists. You load them up from your PC with whatever digital music you want to introduce your child to, be it Mozart or Motorhead. Or audio books, if your child likes to drift off to sleep listening to stories. Navigation between songs is easy enough for a two year old to master. The memory is a 4GB SD-Card but that can be upgraded as easily and as cheaply as upgrading the memory of a camera. A clever switch can put it into quiet mode and limit the maximum volume. Aesthetically it’s charming: looks like something a hands-on 1950s Dad would make in his shed at the end of the garden.If you want to introduce the love of music to your child this is the thing to get.2019 update. I bought this in 2014 for my son's 2nd birthday. He'll be 7 in a month and it's still going strong. It's still his favorite present.

Bought this after hours of research and hesitation due to the cost - happy to say its been a total hit. Easy to use, tough enough to belong to a toddler, looks cool; and it has changed our household lifestyle as we now play with music rather than telly on. Wish it had a headphone jack for long car journeys but other than that its exceeded our hopes!

I primarily bought this to expose my child to the German language through music. The preloaded songs are beautiful and nostalgic. The design ist gorgeous and always keeps its user (children) in mind. I recommended this to everyone who'd listen.
