Thoughtful Design
My previous saddle, wider and softer, was a killer to the butt about 18 miles out. Based on reviews and WTB’s respected standing in the bike world, I bought the Speed Comp model...inexpensive in the world of bike saddles. Noticeable improvement in comfort. If you view my photo, you will see what I think are some specific reasons for the improvement. My previous saddle has the two back end points of the rail directly under your “bottom” directly sending bumps and vibrations straight upward while the WTB moves them back and into the entire rail system to distribute evenly. At the front point, my previous saddle has the same rails coming together more toward the rear and sending bumps/vibrations upward toward my “delicate” body parts, while the WTB saddle has the front point as far forward as possible avoiding sending movement upward. While there is no way to change the impact coming upward from the bike, I do feel WTB’s design works best at dispersing the shock. You can also notice my previous saddle has hard plastic covering the entire bottom vs WTB leaves areas open so shocks are directed away from your sit points. I thought viewing the saddles from the underside was another way to understand the thought behind why my ride comfort improved. My previous saddle was highly rated and within the same price range.

207 miles of gravel road (Dirty Kanza) comfort
First things first. . . Do yourself a favor and get a professional bike fit (YouTube doesn't count). Know your saddle width. Get your reach and saddle height (and cleat placement if you use them) correct, and then adjust your tire pressure (down, probably). Now, once all of this is done, you are potentially in a place to blame the saddle.Having done all of these things, I spent 17.5 out of 19 hours in one day on the same saddle on the same bike. If not for a rain that soaked my chamois that I had to sit on for 6 hours, I'd have had a happy tush for all of those 17.5 hours. This (WTB Speed ProGel) is the saddle I used for the 2017 Dirty Kanza. I've owned it for a couple of years and been happy with its performance, but wasn't previously confident enough to post a review.Bike geometry, frame materials, and tire pressures all play a role in touch point (seat, hand, and foot) comfort, but I've had this same saddle on both aluminum and steel frames, and drop and flat bar bikes, and it works for me.I'm 5'10", 200 lbs., and in pretty average fitness. I "race" to finish, not to place (I haven't placed in any race since I was in high school in the late '90's, and that was running). I'm mostly a weekend gravel grinder and mountain biker, and I can relate to the casual rider's frustrations with bike comfort. This saddle is my go-to.

Probably better for lighter riders
I bought this to replace a well-traveled Speed V. The chassis looks the same, and the overall shape and size are nearly identical (except for the 1/2" shorter nose). The padding, however, is much softer. The relief channel in the middle only functions if the outer parts of the seat support the sit bones well. This seat does not do that for me. Despite setting the seat up exactly as the old seat, my one ride was a miserable 9 miles. I tried adjusting angle and fore/aft position, but nothing helped. The padding was just not dense enough to properly support my 260 lbs. If you're considerably lighter, this seat might be great for you. WTB makes quality products, and this seat lives up to that. It just doesn't work for me.

Chrom-Moly seat rails are supposed to be indestructible.
And the Titanic was supposed to be unsinkable. I am hard on seat rails. I try not to be, but when you find yourself falling out of the sky on a mountain bike and landing hard, seat rails tend to break. This is my go-to saddle for all-day rides because it is comfortable and yet the rails hold up well to ridiculous acts of airborne mayhem.

Great improvement
As much as I wanted to believe my new $1k+ Cannondale MTB bike’s seat was the pinnacle of MTB seat technology, that sweet slick stylized thing hurt after 5 miles. I’m a lean man, run 60-70 miles a month, and do not have a lot of natural cushion on my rear end. I had been out of mountain bikes for 20 years and wanted to change-up the cardio occasionally.Without much research, this seat turned up on a search here repeatedly and I tried it- MUCH better. I could tell immediately this was a vast improvement. Did a 15 mile ride today on trails and validated it’s comfort.Installing was a breeze. The look is really nice actually- doesn’t appear like a cheap, oversized, gel-filled seat. It’s actaully fairly rigid to the touch, but enough give to make the difference.

Couldn't be happier with this saddle.
I have this on a hardtail fatbike that I ride as my year round mountain bike. This saddle was a great compromise of comfort and weight. The weight weenie part of me cringed replacing a 240g saddle with this one, but I have long since forgotten about the small weight penalty. Along with a lightly padded bike short, I have had zero discomfort on any rides after switching to this saddle. It is awesome. Great shape, and firm enough to move around on without getting stuck due to overpadding, but completely comfortable on long or rough rides.

Great Value
I purchased this saddle to replace the stock one on my Trek FX3. The seat is definitely still stiff but it has a lot more cushion then the stock seat. I don’t find it uncomfortable but just about as comfy as one would expect for a bike seat that isn’t meant to be on a cruiser bike. This is probably the best value seat on the market.

Good quality, but too stiff, and uncomfortable.
After adjusting the seat 4 different times, thinking there was something wrong, I returned the seat.It seems to be well built, but it is VERY stiff for a 180lb rider, and the "grip" on the seat chaffs the rider, limiting seat movement. I'm uncertain why this got such great reviews.

Comodo y buen precio

Seems good but only indoor tested.
The seat seems well made but it does not help with my stationary riding discomfort. My search for something more suitable for TV bicycling will continue. I will probably hand it off to one of my children as it he will appreciate it's styling.
