When I started working from home, all my books from work migrated home to join the ones already here and I added a shelf above my desk to keep them handy but out of the way. Then I realized that wasn't such a bright idea since they weren't all willing to self-support and I was in danger of having information literally pounded into my head. I bought the large bookends in purple and they work beautifully. There's a thin foam on the bottom that aids in grip as well as protecting your surface. I then returned for another set in the green color, which is true to the pictures and is not the color of healthy grass, as others have stated. I'll probably buy more when I return to work in the office since the cheap ones provided there don't work nearly as well.

These bookends come in bright colors that are great for color coordinating your home & office bookshelves. They work, so let them do what they do & that is to hold your books up.

Have a number of shelves that aren't closed and shorter, more decorative bookends weren't heavy enough or tall enough for my many larger craft/pattern books. These come in some variety of colors, and do the jobs.

Not quite as heavy as I expected

I had a stack of heavy books on my desk and the decorative bookends I've had just weren't up to the job. These are. Sturdy, subtle, and in my favorite color.

I am using these in the kitchen for my cookbooks which vary in size. They don’t take extra space and the books are contained without sliding all over. Great red color too.

These bookends are the perfect size for trades, comics, or larger books. They're tall enough to hold them securely, the nonskid bottom really holds, and the metal doesn't give at all under the weight of the books. I also like that you can turn them to fit in more books where a traditional bookend would require space at the end. Or you can flip them around if you don't have quite enough books to 'fill' it yet. Either way, you get a secure bookend. I've purchased three pairs over the past year, and they've all been consistent in terms of quality, size, and color.
