Not hard plastic !!! Does the job perfectly.
I figured these would be made of harder plastic when in fact, they are mostly of a flexible rubbery plastic. The yellow covers are made of firmer plastic but still flexible and withstand my 3 ton truck rolling over them. Perfect for placing under a chain-link fence gate to fill the gap between the pavement and the bottom of the gate so pets cannot escape. Each section is interlocking, have tabs where they can be bolted to the pavement and are heavy just by themselves that they do not blow away or even move.

Better than expected
Needed to run an electrical card to power a heater for my horse's water trough. Using a heavy-duty landscape cord for the heater. The cord has to cross the road to the barn. Found these cable protectors and figured I'd give them a try. It's recommended that they be put on a flat surface. My gravel barn road is not really flat. We did try to rake it as flat as possible. The protectors actually conformed to the surface! The power cord rested in quite nicely! We put tape where the protectors came together to aid in keeping them closed. The ultimate test was my husband driving his Kubota B2650 over the protectors....Perfect! They didn't budge at all! Even drove the Ram 1500 loaded with hay across them....absolutely great! The cord is protected and the water trough heater is working.

Great protection for hoses
These rubber sections interlock easily to form a channel across the driveway to protect hoses or wires. After simply driving over our hose until we had leaks from gravel puncturing the hose, we got these to protect the hose. So easy to assemble and the hose fit perfectly! We got the heavier duty ones so our hose would also be protected from our tractors and semi trucks delivering products and livestock to our farm. It works best if the area is flattened.

Just what we needed
We use these at work at a construction site and they work as needed. Feel very sturdy and durable.

More way too easily...
The ramp up portions of these cable guards are too abrupt for the size, and so even lighter vehicles move them around. Talking about slow moving golf carts here (ours goes about 7mph where i wrok). If planning to place in higher traffic areas, look for a way to secure them.

66,000 lb rating???
They attach to each other easily and seem robust, but I would have also liked the top yellow cover to have snapped into place instead of just laying there. Don't know if the wind will blow the cover open. Ad says rated for 66,000 lbs yet when I received them there was a paper saying that they're only good for a small car going slowly over them. I'm running a garden hose in one channel and a 30 amp power cable and a RG6 coax cable in the other channel. Smell was terrible as noted in other reviews, but not noticeable once they're placed outside, and the smell should go away. I expect that they'll work ok for my needs though as long as they protect the water hose and power cables from being punctured from the 3/4 processed stone driveway if a loaded pickup truck were to roll slowly over it at my campsite.

Stuck in The Middle
The speed bumps did not perform as advertised. The moved and came apart even when small vehicles drove over them. Thus, creating a safety hazard. Amazon approved a refund, but I would have to ship them back to the vendor at my own expense. I bought four sets for a total cost of $640.00. It would cost over $800.00 to ship them to California. I appealed to Amazon but was to no avail. I should have purchased this product from Home Depot. Their return policy is much more customer friendly.
