No more tying my shoes
I really dislike having to tie my shoes and I was actually considering some ugly slip ons, when it occurred to me that I could buy elastic laces and slip on my favorite shoes. I bought these and another brand's package that only had pink laces. The instructions are easy, and now that my shoes are permanently laced, leaving the house is much easier, and when I get home, I can just kick off my shoes. The assortment of colors means I can color code my casual shoes. This was definitely a great investment and I plan on buying more.

Stretch shoe lacing non-tie system, works well.
Laced my custom-ordered New Balance running shoes with these so far. Previously they had a set of Hickies rubbery fasteners for years and those were stretched out, and I decided to give these low priced stretchy laces a try. I was going for tight fit for the six-holes-on-each-side shoes, so I cut one of the laces in half, lightly melted the raw ends of the cut to prevent fraying with a butane lighter, and used the two pieces to lace both shoes. Otherwise you use one lace per shoe and trim to fit. You put them through the eyelets as normal, run the two ends through the holes of a pushbutton adjuster while holding the button down FIRMLY, then carefully into the hole in the back end of a plastic alligator clamp so the ends are inside and squeeze the clamp shut hard till it latches. I ended up using pliers on it. Worked. Look at the pictures, you should have a bit of slack to loosen it (press the button and slide the adjuster down) and put the shoe on, then again press and hold the adjuster open while sliding it to a snug position, using your other hand to hold the end of the lace taut. Finally, tuck the plastic end under the nearest cross laces. You can then also use the laced shoes as slip-ons, sort of. If you do, you'll have to pull each shoe open strongly as you push your foot in. These are fairly strong. This system is new to me. So far, it works. The plastic parts are holding up, the laces keep my shoes in place on the feet, not bad. If you don't like your shoes laced really tight, then DON'T cut one lace into two like I did if you have six or more eyelets each side. They're not expensive.

Easy-Peasy
These were my first replacements for the broken laces for a pair of daily work shoes with steel toes. These were substantially larger in diameter than the ones that came on the shoes. Not so large as to not fit into the eyelets, but maybe more durable (?). I was a bit apprehensive about threading the laces and cutting the excess off...sounded like an opportunity for me to screw up. I didn't. It was easy, and it turned out perfectly. To help with fray prevention on the severed ends of the laces, I did the "quick melt technique" with a butane lighter. When attaching the tip ends (one per shoe), pay attention to how deep the pair of lace ends penetrate the clamshell tip--there's a hint of an end stop to help, if you look for it. Remember to fully depress the locking button when moving it up/down the laces to prevent unnecessary wear on the laces.I got the black laces with a reflective weave. The price was nice, and I like 'em. I like 'em a lot.Follow-up: Well, it's been more than 5 months of almost daily use, and the shoe strings are holding up very well. Almost no evidence of wear or elastic fatigue. At this rate, the package I purchased is almost a lifetime supply. Highly recommended.

Difficult to thread lace through cord lock
Just completed replacing the old laces with the No Tie Laces. The problem I had was passing the elastic lace through the lace lock. The ends have a plastic sleeves to keep the ends from fraying, making the ends too large to pass through the opening. Had to use a pr of channel locks, pair of forceps and a a small nail to the laces through the small holes on the lace locks. If the locks come off there maybe no was to get them through the lace locks again. Time will tell if I keep them.

Effective and good substitute for laces
I bought these for my winter boots because the laces on those were atrocious! Way too many times I had to keep tying the laces because they got undone. These elastic laces are pretty good. I struggled a bit getting them set up but that’s just me being slow😅 only complaint is that once you cut the laces to the desired length past the lock, they can be difficult to put into those plastic little holders. And that’s because the laces get a little fuzzy with the material sticking out of the ends. Still doable though, 100%. Also, a side note on those plastic clips. I was messing around with it and wanted to see how it closes and then couldn’t undo it😂 paper clip didn’t work for me but my dad gave me a little screwdriver looking utensil. Just have to apply pressure where the latch is and the clip undoes itself. They work well on my boots and it’s nice to just slip them in and not have to worry about tying them up. I just adjust the tightness of the lace so that the boots fit just right!100% recommend these:)
