Upgraded Power Strip with individual power switches that light up when powered on
I'm a IT professional who has been installing equipment within network racks for over 28 years. One of my standard practices is to include a powerful UPS at the bottom of the rack with a mounted 19" power strip to connect all the rack devices. A pain point has always been trying to disconnect power on a single device because they would all share the same strip with no viable means to disconnect an individual device without pulling power from the device or unplugging the device from the power strip. The Pyle PDBC70 solves this problem by providing separate power switches for each device up to 9 devices. They are also clearly labeled 1-9 on the front of the switch and lights up when powered on. I can now easily identify each device and cycle power on demand. This is a must have upgrade for anyone responsible for network racks with associated power strips. This 1U unit is light weight, has a long heavy duty power cord, is easy to install and adds functionality not found in a standard power strip. This is my new "goto" power strip for all network rack projects.

Pyle PDBC70 PDU. Good, solid, quality construction.
I got this PDU for my computer desk. The slim, 1U rack design and small footprint allowed for more room than the large, square PDU that I've had since the early 2000's. The quality and construction of the PDU is outstanding, there's no rattling, no loose screws or internals. This isn't some cheap Chinese garbage that you have to worry about starting a fire. The 9 on/off switches give off a warm orange glow and have a satisfying click when you switch them on and off. The rear outlets are as solid as the rest of the construction, there's no loose outlet, no wiggle, just a solid plug. The power in cord is a nice thick quality cord that plugs straight into the wall socket, it's not a 90° plug. The only thing that would make this unit better would be to have a removable power in cable. I highly recommend spending the money on one of these to protect your computer, audio, video or whatever equipment you have hooked up through this Pyle PDBC70.

Well Built.
I checked with Pyle as their promotional literature stated Blue switches and the pictures show Red. They are in-fact Red.I was a little worried that switch glow was going to be too strong based on photos but they are appropriate. Not dim, Not bright. You can use this in a darkened area and it will not be over powering. This is a properly designed 1u unit. The flanges meet the mounting brackets and holes correctly. Also if you needed a short depth shelf in your rack, you could use this for that purpose as the box integrity is very good. The construction is of thick guage metal and will not bend. In fact you can cross mount using only two (one on each side) mount bolts. and the unit will be rock solid. The switches are long throw toggles that firmly latch. They are not easily accidentally tripped. There is a front panel circuit breaker on the left in black and is fairly hard to discern. Each switch and corresponding outlet is directly across from each other (front to back.) It is not reverse or cross mounted like some PDUs are. So you can face the switch and feel directly behind the exact position of the outlet if needed. In tight setups this can be very helpful. Outlet spacing is appropriate. The unit's power cord is very heavy. The whole unit is physically constructed well, I did not dissemble to check for electrical construction as I need to install quickly. No regrets.

Great unit, easy to work with - except 19" racks
As with any type of unit like this, it does one thing, and that's what it's advertised to do. In this case, it's an outlet switcher. Typically with surge-protection, the only thing that's added is a little electronics part called a surge suppressor, which essentially a two-pin capacitor to store/filter little surges in voltage (voltage spikes) and to simply rupture, should the voltage spike be too much. This, in turn shorts out the outlet and blows the circuit breaker. Simple idea, but nothing that should add much cost.In this case, it really doesn't add much cost. Pyle makes a solid unit with 9 numbered switches, lit by Blue LEDs, controlling a single outlet on the rear for each. The power cord to the unit is thick, and solid. The unit is well built, except the faceplate. The faceplate should be thicker, and I'm not sure why, but the template used to cut the rack-ear holes in the front plate is still using super-ancient rack-screw spacing. Most modern 19" racks no longer use this spacing for the screw holes. You cannot mount this unit directly into a normal 19" rack without modifying the faceplate screw holes.Other than this, the unit is great for the price, and I suspect will last a very long time.

As Expected
19" Rack-mount Power supply with individual switches for each of 9 ports. It works as expected. I have a mini rack (20U) on a desk in my office and although I don't really need the individual switches, I think they are cool. I will definitely get a second one when I set up my radio rack, and might get some for the server racks in my garage.
