Just in case
I knew I needed to find a snow shovel that would allow me to clear my driveway without putting strain on my recovering back. Last year's heavy snowfall caught me off guard, but this year, I was prepared thanks to Snow Joe.The first thing that impressed me about this shovel is its innovative design. The spring-assisted handle significantly reduces strain on my back and shoulders, making shoveling snow much more manageable and comfortable. Even after extended use, I don't feel the same fatigue and soreness that I did with my old shovel. It's truly remarkable how much of a difference this feature makes. Not only is the Snow Joe shovel ergonomic and easy on the body, but it's also incredibly efficient at clearing snow. The 20-inch blade allows me to move large amounts of snow with each pass, saving me time and effort. The shovel's durable construction means it can handle even the heaviest snowfalls without bending or breaking, giving me confidence that it will last for many winters to come.Another thing I appreciate about this shovel is its versatility. The adjustable handle allows me to customize the height to suit my needs, further reducing strain on my back. Whether I'm clearing snow from my driveway, sidewalk, or patio, this shovel gets the job done quickly and effectively.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Snow Joe SJ-SHLV20 Shovelution Snow Shovel. It's made a world of difference in my winter routine and has allowed me to tackle snow removal with confidence and ease, even after back surgery. If you're in need of a snow shovel that puts your comfort and safety first, look no further than Snow Joe. It's a game-changer!

Great snow shovel - highly recommend
This shovel worked great during our terrible January snows this year. Very light weight, but got the job done easily. Love the extra handle - made tossing the snow so much easier on my back.

BETTER THAN I THOUGHT
I just got my Snowjoe shovel and although I haven’t had the opportunity to use it, I’m sharing some facts/features about it that may be helpful if you’re considering a purchase. Assembly: The SJ comes in a thin box in 3 parts. A plus is the shovel is light. The shovel blade attaches to a middle pole which has the leverage handle, and that pole attaches to the pole with the top handle. Attachments can be a bit tricky. The middle pole has a silver button on it that you must push in for the pole to go into the shovel blade. But the middle pole also has a channel in it at the bottom that must align with a raised edge deep in the receiving hole in the shovel blade (all black plastic so a bit difficult to notice). I didn’t realize that at first and couldn’t figure out why the middle pole wouldn’t go as deep as it needed to. Once I saw the need for the alignment, the middle pole and shovel blade made a tight fit. As for attaching the top pole to the middle pole, they connect via a screw that goes through both poles and has a large, easy to turn nut on the end to tighten by hand. The only trick here is putting the screw through the correct hole. You’ll want to insert the screw through the hole with the square opening as it aligns with a square at the top of the screw. Once assembled, the shovel seems sturdy. 2 more pluses: The leverage handle on the middle pole flexes and they provide a strap so you can strap it to the middle pole for storage. As a result, if you want to hang your SJ for storage, the leverage handle won’t stick out. And the instructions include a 2 year warranty and a 1-800 number to contact customer service. So why didn’t I give the SJ a 5/5 rating? Only because I’m 6’3” and the shovel is a bit short for me. Not too short though—I look forward to using it!

Great snow shovel
This shovel, with the metal edge, clears the snow down to the concrete of my driveway. But, if you are working on a gravel pathway, it is not so good as the metal edge, while good on concrete, tends to pick up the gravel or get stuck on gravel that is embedded in the ground. On concrete and asphalt, it is great. The extra handle does make it easier to lift heavy snow and toss it a pretty good distance. It's a pretty light shovel and that helps with being able to toss the snow a greater distance. It seems to be pretty durable and a pretty good value. The metal edge, in my opinion, makes it a preferable option to my plastic edge shovels.

Fantastic! Way less strain on the low back than a regular snow shovel
I just finished my first use of my new Snow Joe Shovelution with spring assist handle, in 6 inches of wet heavy snow. This is a back saver ! I love this shovel !!! Its lightweight design with the added spring handle assist allowed me to avoid using so much of my low back muscles. I didn't have to bend over much at all, like I usually would. As for how it will hold up over time, that remains to be seen. The shovel is plastic, but seems sturdy. In this first use, its performance was solid, and it didn't bend. It has a good sharp blade on the edge of the shovel. It moves a decent amount of snow. As to its length and ease of use, I am a 5'2" female and I didn't have any trouble with the length of either handle. And it was so much easier heaving the snow aside than with a regular snow shovel. One caveat is that it shifts the effort to the upper body. My shoulders and arms are a little shaky, but not painful, although they might be sore tomorrow. But the key is my back doesn't hurt like it usually does. Excellent snow shovel ! Note: This is an unpaid, unsponsored review. And I did not get the shovel for free.

Looks like it would be flimsy, but seems good so far.
Wirks great for pushibg and throwing. I expected my back and shoulder to take a beating, but no problems during 30 minutes of work. Highly recommended.

Snow Joe Shovelution Strain Reducing Snow Shovel with Spring Assisted Handle
We had our first snow and I was able to try this new shovel out. I liked the higher side edges on the shovel, which kept the snow from falling out while I pushed it. However, the plastic shovel was made of thin plastic and it buckled every time I hit a bump or seam in the concrete driveway. So instead of a smooth "push," I was constantly stopping and have to back up and readjust. It was annoying and hard on my back. I really like the spring handle assist. It worked really well and was easy on my back. Also, it made the job go faster. So overall, its a good snow shovel except for the thin plastic shovel material.
