Great seat for special needs kiddos!
Update: 12/22/24After another failed attempt at booster training, we are returning to using the harness in this seat. While mostly well-behaved in booster-mode, my (now 8yo) grandson remains inconsistent; if he drops a toy, or is very tired and overstimulated, he gets antsy, and sometimes wiggles himself out of the shoulder belt. He is 47 inches tall now, weighs 43.5 lbs, and is on the second-to-last notch on the headrest. I’m waiting another 6-12 mos. to try booster training again.********************************************************************************************************************5/10/2024 (original post): First, let me say that this seat is for older, bigger children. It cannot rear-face, and while the minimum weight is listed at 25lb, for safety reasons, children of that weight should remain in a rear-facing seat until they outgrow it.I ordered this seat for a few reasons. One reason was that I needed a seat with a higher harness limit than most standard seats. The harness on the My Fit goes to 19.5 inches from the seat; 1.5 inches higher than our Graco 4Ever DLX. My grandson is 7.5yo and is ASD level 2; he is wiggly and impulsive, and definitely not ready for booster training yet (we’ve tried). For reference, he is 46 inches tall and weighs 42lb. According to my research, each inch of seat height is roughly equal to one year of growth. He has a couple of inches of growth room in the My Fit harness, and hopefully will be more ready for a booster in the next year or so. I have done much reading over the past month, and I am impressed with the safety ratings of this seat. I also like the thick, comfortable padding. My son and DIL have had the base model of the My Fit in their car for the past two years (the cover does not zip off), and they really like their seat. I chose the My Fit Zip model with the zip-off lining, and I would urge anybody who has a child not fully potty trained, or one that drinks in the car seat, to upgrade to the My Fit Zip. It is worth the extra money to be able to unzip the pads and toss them in the wash without taking the whole seat out of the car to remove the cover.I installed the seat using the vehicle seat belt, because my grandson weighs more than 40lb. I have a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. This seat is a bit bulkier than our Graco 4Ever DLX, and weighs a couple of pounds more, but it fit well in my vehicle and it was as easy to install with the seat belt as our Graco was.The width of the seat is listed as 17 or 17.5 inches on several review sites, but the width of the seat where it meets the vehicle seat back is roughly 11.5-12 inches, so it will fit in smaller cars.I am extremely happy with the quality and heavy-duty construction of this seat; it is well worth the money we paid!

The Best Car Seat I've Owned
I’ve tried two other brands, and this one is by far the best. The Chicco MyFit provides an excellent combination of safety, comfort, and ease of use. The 5-point harness feels very secure, and the high back seat offers great support for long car rides. My son feels very comfortable using it, and he’s happy to sit in it even on longer trips. Adjusting the straps and installing the seat was straightforward, unlike other models I’ve used. It’s clear that this seat was designed with both kids and parents in mind. Highly recommended!

The durability or the car seat is wonderful
This has been our sons favorite car seat, yet. It’s very roomy and padded, which keeps him comfortable. The cup holders are so easy to remove and clean which is a big deal when having a toddler boy. The seat is very sturdy and the padding is very secured. It fit perfectly in my sedan and in my new suv. We love the safety belt lock to install without the anchors as my suv does not have the anchors. It feels very safe and we are very happy with this purchase.

comfortable, safe ride
My preschooler is big and tall, and his head would always flop forward when he fell asleep in his old convertible carseat. I researched several seats before deciding on this one, and I'm glad we made this choice. Our infant seat was a Chicco KeyFit, and I loved that seat. This one is just as good, comfortable, and easy to use. Here are my favorite features:1. This one is lighter weight than many other well-reviewed models, but has plenty of important safety features and high ratings.2. The padding around the headrest area is substantial without feeling like I'm strapping my son into a spaceship. He can see better out the windows of the car thanks to the shape of the headrest "wings" without compromising head and neck protection.3. When he falls asleep in the car, his head gently rests upright at a normal position against the headrest "wing", instead of falling forward at an awkward, uncomfortable angle like it did in his convertible.4. The two flexible cupholders have been really useful. He can reach them easily, and the flexible material makes it feel less cheap and fragile.5. It's easy keeping this seat clean- you can remove the cover, and the hard pieces wipe down easily.6. It was easy to install in the car- I have a heftier well-rated convertible seat from another brand that has served us well, but is a pain to get in and out of cars and airplanes. This one is straightforward, with a level and guide labels to make it easy.7. It's a pretty new model, and seems like it's based on recent research and technology. This isn't just a reboot of other seats that have been selling well forever. It's a well-executed ergonomic design, with thoughtful shaping of safety features that still allow for a comfortable experience. When shopping for a toddler harness booster, I was primarily deciding between the Britax models and this one. Safety is my number one concern, but I also want my child to be comfortable. I am sure a Britax seat could have been a good choice as well, but in the end, I am glad we went with the Chicco MyFit for our family.
