It should but I'd recommend using a food processor as this unit is quite small.

Yes I love it it's great does everything it's supposed to do

Q: can it be used to store also?

Not really. The top piece just rests on the bottom, so nothing is air tight. It really doesn't hold that much anyway. I suppose you could wrap the whole thing in plastic wrap though if you wanted.
