Maher's EKIGAÏNA Red is impressed with deep, vibrant purple color and gives a sweet fruit driven nose and a juicy ripe fruity palate. Ekigaïna is a hybrid of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tanat and it is balanced with fresh mineralogy, smokiness and a well-structured medium body.
GROWING WITH LOVE. We are working with an experienced Italian academician oenologist to bring out the grape's own characters and the local history of Turkey in the wine without any interruptions. We have started from scratch, and are growing several red varietals including cross-grapes developed in France and Italy which are new to the world.
A PERFECT BLEND. EKIGAÏNA is produced from carefully harvested 100% Ekigaïna grapes, during the first week of September. After 15 days of maceration with skins and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is let to mature in oak barrels made of 100% French oak for 12 months.

Maher's Ekigaina is a medium - bodied red wine made from 100% Ekigaina grapes harvested from our pristine vineyards in Ural, Turkey. As a hybrid of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tanat, Ekigaina shows a great adaptation to the Aegean/ Ural microclimate. We grow our vines organically with little to no manipulation and work in coordination with the laws of the nature. We have started our journey respecting the dynamics of the grape and the wine, with no compromise from our understanding of consistent level of quality. Our vineyard is the only vineyard so far in Turkey with no installed irrigation system and our wine making team uses special pruning and winemaking techniques to ensure the freshness and quality of Ekigaina Wine.
