Study, stable, portable & easy to assemble. Love this commode!
This is, for me, a perfect portable commode.I purchased the 450 lb weight limit stationary model - the one without wheels.I received this commode in three days - faster delivery time than expected and no damage to the box or contents. The basic chair like design has a roomy seat, arms that swing up or down, adjustable leg heights and with a weight capacity of 450 lb this commode is useful for people of many sizes and medical needs. This commode would also be ideal for camping, off grid use and emergency preparedness use.I already had a standard fixed arm commode and I didn't like the restrictiveness of the arms and small cheesy seat - I wanted to find a commode that was less cumbersome, fit into a smaller space but could still accommodate larger folks, had swing up/down arms and was designed more like a standard toilet.I looked at several different styles here on Amazon and other places and read dozens of reviews. My main criteria were that the ideal commode be portable, sturdy, well made, adjustable height, easy to assemble, no fixed arms AND reasonably priced. This commode ticks all those boxes.Reading the complaints about this commode's parts being broken upon receipt might be due to the fact than it is not shipped packaged in protective foam or other packing material but it fits sung in the shipping box and the one I received was fine, no damage whatsoever.>>>>> I will add that any company that makes medical commodes should ALWAYS offer replacement parts so if the seat or bucket or a leg is damaged, it can be easily replaced. Not only would replacement parts be economical, it would also be environmentally friendly. That said...This commode is very well made and should last for many years if it's assembled and used properly. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble. No tools needed. It would likely take someone with more upper body arm strength less time as it's super easy - slide each leg extender into the frame. slide the back rail in, put the waste receptacle bucket in the holder frame, snap on the toilet seat and the toilet seat cover. Easy peasy. The frame is heavy duty and has the swing down arms already attached. As noted, it's super simple to assemble however you will need some elbow grease when sliding the legs into the frame and a bit of patience when lining up the pop out buttons on the height holes. The back rail also slides in and secures with a pop out button on each side. The seat and lid snap on the frame via the plastic holders that slip over the frame. I can see where this might be a possible break point of failure issue in the future depending on use because of the plastic construction. For now it seems fine. The seat is large and roomy and the opening large and oval like a regular toilet seat. The seat is molded plastic and while it has a little bit of "give" it's still fairly hard. It's not uncomfortable. The toilet seat cover also easy snaps on and both the toilet seat and cover swing up and down easily. You could use this commode as a chair with the toilet seat cover down but I'd add some sort of cushion since it's plastic. I would NOT stand on it though because it is plastic and there is no support down the center where it's open for the waste receptacle bucket. The waste receptacle bucket is oval to match the shape of the toilet seat opening and lines up well. It's fairly large so that's a plus. The waste receptacle bucket also has a carry handle. The waste receptacle bucket lid for the bucket fits snug over a trash bag liner fitted over the bucket and the lid handle is easy to grasp.Sine I'm not using this commode over a regular toilet I have no idea how that works.I use this commode with the arms down so it feels and functions more like a regular toilet. With the arms up, it would be good for those who need help to sit and stand up but it would also limit the width so if you are a large person it could be a tight fit.I am 5'5 and have the legs set on the shortest setting. With the seat attached, it's a comfortable height though I think in future iterations the company might consider shortening the frame legs so the leg extenders could be adjusted a couple of inches lower if needed. All in all, this is a solid, sturdy well made commode that is versatile with the arms that swing up for use or down so they are out of the way and makes this more easily accessible for those who need to slide on and off and for larger people. This makes it a much better commode than those with fixed arms and wide bench like seats. The design is well thought out - it's basically a chair so more aesthetic looking and more in line with a standard toilet design. The color is a clinical meh shade of gray on the frame and teal blue on the plastic parts. For the waste receptacle liners I am using heavy duty 8 gal trash bags and instead of commode liner pads I use cheap clumping cat litter and add baking soda since I am using this commode as a toilet in an out building art studio and it is a godsend for those moments when I don't want to make a mad dash in the middle of the night or in the rain or snow across the yard into the house. As a bedside commode for medical needs or for other use, this is a great commodeI definitely recommend this commode.>>>>> And again to the manufacturer and seller, please offer replacement parts because you have a great product that should last a long time if some of the plastic parts should wear out and/or break over time and might need to be periodically replaced or are damaged in shipping. If you want to kick this up a notch, make the seat, seat cover and waste receptacle bucket and lid in a few other colors such as white black, pink, etc, Or just make those colors optional swap out parts so people can customize to fit a color scheme. If there are any issues, I will update.

Nice design
This is the first commode we've purchased. We were impressed with the style because it doesn't look as institutional as others. The color and style are pleasing and we like the fact that it has a lid that can close over the seat. This is in addition to the lid that covers the container if you prefer to use that.Until we bought a toilet seat riser, we placed this commode chair over a regular toilet. In order to do this, the toilet lid that closes over the seat had to be removed. As a result, the seat can slide a bit from side to side since the hinges from the lid were no longer there to keep the seat positioned. I'm talking about sliding by only an inch or two and this would not happen if whoever is using it has good control when sitting down. It cannot slide more than this. Should the seat slide and not be positioned exactly in the center, one of the metal rails that holds up the container (when you're using it as a bedside commode) is exposed, depending upon which side the seat slid to. The rail could get soiled. However, everything is easy to clean. The arm drops down very easily as long as the person doing this is able to depress the button that keeps it locked/unlocked. The commode is very strong. It's being used by a 250 pound person who needs to use the rails to raise and lower himself and he does not always have the ability to do controlled sitting or standing.

Looks sturdy and comfortable
So here’s the thing - I ordered this when my brother went into the hospital, thinking he’d be coming home soon. Unfortunately, he was eventually transferred to a nursing home and hospice (where he has to use a bedpan, much to his chagrin), so he never got to use this commode. Fingers crossed, he WILL be coming home and will be able to use it.That said, just from what i can tell, it looks very sturdy and comfortable, as far as bedside commodes go. It does take some assembly, but doesn’t look too difficult. My brother needs a taller one because it is difficult for him to lift himself off the toilet, and he is 6’2”, and this one can be adjusted for height. He always had a riser on the toilet in the bathroom here at my house. If he is not able to return home, I also care for my elderly mother, and she may need to use this someday. All in all, it looks sturdy and well-made. I also got some commode liners, which will help me with less mess and clean-up. I would recommend this commode compared to others I researched.

Sturdy, but not comfy.
This commode is very, very sturdy, but not too comfortable. If you drop the arms down to give yourself more room, there are some hard pieces of metal on each side that can dig into your bottom at times. You may have to adjust yourself to find the most comfortable seating position for you. Also, inside the bucket is a rim that keeps the urine from emptying completely and makes it smell terrible! It turned out to be two pieces, so I suggest you remove the inner piece in the bucket that forms the rim. You don't need it and then you will be able to empty the bucket completely and clean it thoroughly so there is no smell. Other than that, it's a great product, holds up to 450 pounds, and is very sturdy.

It works!
Finally, a bedside commode designed for human anatomy. And the elongated seat is matched with an elongated bucket. No pee squirts between the seat and bucket which is the norm for others as seen by me (RN). No difficulty seating the senior man on the commode. It’s sturdy, has drop arms for convenience, and it’s stylish as well. I highly recommend this product.

Ideal for small bathroom spaces.
I needed a commode because of hip surgery. I have an older bathroom with limited space between the toilet and tub. It has foding handles and i only keep the left side up - this also helps the tight space fitting issue. This fit perfectly. It has an elongated seat and comes in a nice light blue color.
