Q: Is it supposed to come with separate mounting brackets, or are the mounting brackets part of the pieces? Mine seems to be missing

Mine were included. You have to use the Allen wrench to loosen the screw up so the back of each piece “falls” off. You then screw that piece into the wall. After that, use Allen wrench to put the front face back onto that back piece that’s now in the wall.
