Equally funny and serious movie at once
Gringo is both wildly entertaining and considerably intense. Brilliant production.

How have I not heard of this film until now?
I don't call many things brilliant but this is. It's like if Tarantino's True Romance were written by Jane Austen or if Barbara Streisland's What's Up Doc were about drug dealers. This film just perfectly balances everything. And the cast are faultless. David Oyelowo has to taken the most praise as the central character who is unfailingly likeable, frequently hilarious and always believable. But everyone - Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, Thandie Newton, Amanda Seyfried, Sharlto Copley, all of them - are great. This film has a perfect script. Nothing in it could be changed without lessening the whole. And it's brilliantly directed - so well that you can't see the effort that must have gone into this.Totally blown away by this film.

Don't trust the trailer
What a shambles. A shambles with a great cast, but a shambles nonetheless.Firstly, if you see the trailer and think you're in for a jolly, laugh a minute farce, don't be fooled. I have NEVER seen a more misleading trailer.Secondly, most of the characters are irredeemably awful. So flatly are they drawn I didn't even hate the worst ones enough to want to see if they got their comeuppance.Gosh, that trailer was misleading... Even to reordering events to make it seem like we we in for a different film.Such a waste of acting talent. Only the put upon lead character has any charm or interest. If this were handled by the Coen Brothers, masters of black comedy and violent action, this might have been a very different proposition. Instead, it's a work of hacks, and the fact that Amazon invested my prime membership and much other custom over the years to produce such excreta is shocking.

There is lots going on here!
I was pleasantly surprised by this flick, it has lots going on and a few things made me laugh out loud, its a little dark too which appears to my sense of humour but also has a great story that's well told!

Amusing and well acted comedy of errors.
Quite an amusing film. Charlise Theron plays an excellent role as a carreerist corporate monster who she manages to make sympathetic, believable and horrifying all at the same time as the cracks and insecurities of the characters psyche are subtly brought out.

A little diamond
Funny little find. Well produced and acted. Really enjoyed it the only unbelievable thing was the quality of the skype calls; they dodnt spend the first 10 mins of each call adjusting sound, getting disconnected or shouting can you hear me.

Worth watching
This film had more plot than I had expected. Not as much slapstick comedy as I expected, but a lot of good moments never the less. Some good characters. Not the best movie ever, but well worth a watch.
