Great for cycling, room for improvement
I have primarily been using these as my cycling glasses since April 2013. I have found the transitions lenses to be perfect for my application. They get just dark enough so I don't have to squint while riding on a sunny day. I can also ride home during the evenings when clouds of mosquitoes are out and still see the road. They have held up very well, with the exception of the silicone nose pads. Very early on the nose pads began to wear through. I got around this by swapping the left and right side so that I had a whole new side of the pad to wear through. This got me through until recently when the pads actually started falling apart. At this point there are almost useless, since wearing them without the pads would scratch my face/nose. Aside from the nose pads that I can't seem to find replacements for online, the glasses are in great shape. It would be a shame to have to toss them for such a minor issue.Good:-Not too dark, but dark enough in full sun-Durable-Good fit (saved my eyes from countless debris and bugs)Bad:-Nose pads seem to be low quality-Good fit (fits the curve of my forehead perfectly, making the lenses fog up sometimes)

However if you just wear them on your face like normal, it is not enough sun to get ...
I was looking for a pair of around town / cycling glasses. Many have said that they do not get as dark as the guy in the picture. That is not true. I did a bit of testing on them today and discovered that they do in fact get that dark, if you point them directly as the sun (like pointing straight up). However if you just wear them on your face like normal, it is not enough sun to get that dark, and it definitely depends if you are pointing into the sun directly or not.If it is 12 o'clock and the sun is exactly overhead, I would say that are about 40-50% of their maximum darkness. If it is 2pm outside, I would say that are about 60-80% of their maximum darkness. If it is 7pm outside and the sun is going to be setting soon, but still full sunlight, I would say that are about 10-20% of their maximum darkness.Which is not that great, which is why I am only rating them 3 stars.Other findings: A little on the heavy side, frames are not super conformable but are fairly adjustable to fit your face shape. They did come with a bag and a strap so that you can wear them around your neck.Am I going to return these? I'm not sure yet. I think I need to get used to them first before I can say that - they are not great, but they are not bad either.

I am a 40 year construction professional, this is a must have
I have been in the trades for 40 years and my tools matter, i came up through the ranks. The last dinosaur or sorts, a laborer, union form carpenter, a foreman, superintendent, project manager, senior project manager and now an owners representative and good tools matter. When it comes to being inside the structure in a place like New Mexico, where there is only temp lighting and walking outside into immediate bright sun, there are no better than these 3m glasses, this is my second pair. The first i had for about eight years until someone decided they needed them more than i did, so this is my second pair. Best value and best looking on the market hands down.

Well-built, lenses did not darken in direct sunlight.
I purchased these glasses for use on my bicycle rides. My thought process was that it would be nice to have safety lenses that had the added benefit of darkening and then going clear again when traveling through the numerous bike tunnels I ride through sometimes.I took these out of the bag and one of the lenses had fallen out - not a big deal but made me wonder how secure they would be on my bike. My next test was fit;they fit fine but there were large gaps on the underside of the lenses (fit is always different for everyone).Next I wanted to see how dark they got in sunlight and back to shade etc. I stood in the direct sun for a few minutes, and noticed no change. I figured that maybe they needed to adjust or something or that there was a film you had to remove. No film and after just leaving them on a table outside in direct sun for about 5 minutes, there was no change at all in the darkness of the lens.Perhaps I got the wrong lenses with my glasses. I returned them and will look for a different brand.I gave the product three stars because I am sure they are good safety glasses and it's possible the packaging was incorrect.

Great for the jobsite if your in and out of sunlight.
Glasses are comfortable, frames can be bent around ear tips and nose piece to achieve a good fit. Comes with a lanyard and microfiber pouch. Transition from light to dark is very quick and lens seems to be a bit darker than some other photochromatic lens' I've had before. Transition from dark to light take about 2-3 minutes, however I have not had trouble seeing when walking in from the bright sunshine. A tip to anyone thinking about using these as sunglasses. Most all vehicles have UV glass and the lens will not turn dark. On a motorcycle, no problem, in a car forget it. The style is good looking and the lens is not as large from frame top to bottom as some safety glasses. Good eye coverage, however if your looking for a full size lens these are not big by any means. I have had many photochromatic safety glasses and these are a notch better just because the tint is a tad darker. Great 3M product.

Great glasses, they don’t get that dark. READ REVIEW
These are nice safety glasses. I would recommend for someone who is constantly going from indoors to outdoors and is sensitive to sun light. If you are spending more time outside than inside I would not recommend these. Also if you are just working outside, I would not recommend.Pros: stylish, metal frame arms, customizable! The nose piece and frame arms can be bent to fit your head. I bent mine around my ears for a tight fit. This was really nice and comfortable. Transition from light to dark works decent.Cons: glasses don’t get thy dark. These DO NOT get dark enough like sun glasses do, but they do tint up enough to lessen squinting. I wish they would get darker.

Don't bother. Not real safety glasses.
Not CE marked so not approved for use on site. These are not proper safety glasses.
