Norpro 6516 Ultimate Seafood Shears Red 7.5" x 3" x .5"

This is pretty simple, this product is as advertised. If you eat a lot of shelled seafood, you need one of these. I would recommend this item.

Makes getting the lobster meat out of the shell much easier.

Shears can come apart while using. The top blade of the shears is so short that it does little cutting.

Doesn't cut king crab legs or claws well at all as the cutters are too wide to fit into the leg while cutting especially the lower end of the legs

I purchased 3 pair of these seafood shears. We used them the other evening for the first time. They are awesome! It was a little awkward at first using them because you use them in a pulling and cutting toward you direction, but after a minute of getting acclimated, they worked like a charm. They work great cutting through the crab legs we were eating. They worked equally well with smaller legs and with the larger legs. The design gives you plenty of leverage and cutting power to even cut through the thickest shell. And the crackers built into the handles worked beautifully. The crackers have fairly sharp teeth that get a good, non-slip grip on the claws and break through them effortlessly. I've used other crackers that don't grip well and just slip off to one side as you press down. I love crab but don't normally eat it just because it is too much effort for the small reward of crab meat that you get. But with these shears, I went to town on the crab legs and getting to the meat was fast and with very little effort. So now I will be eating lots of crab with these shears. Also, they are super easy to clean, you just open the handles all the way apart and the shears come apart into two pieces for cleaning.
