The Jungian Tarot Deck Cards – 1 Aug. 2017

First deck.Good quality.Usefull tool.

Poor quality card. Not super-shiny, though still too shiny for my liking, and not much thicker than very thick paper! Very flimsy indeed. I'm disappointed, because I paid a fair amount for them from a US seller (more than double the price they're available for via Amazon right now).Other than that, the traditionally-styled artwork is rich in colour and detail. Generally, people seem realistic and unique, and the scenes contain the usual symbolism, which a few alterations, such as a panther (or similar big cat) on the Fool card, rather than a dog or crocodile. The images contain virtually no nudity - just one card shows a woman's breasts, another shows two bare bottoms - just in case anyone finds naked bodies offensive! The images on the back aren't symmetrical (so you know what way up they are when shuffling), and individual cards aren't titled or numbered. The last two points aren't necessarily negative, depending on how experienced you are, how you plan to use the cards, and what your personal preferences are; but I thought it important to note them.I haven't had a chance to work with the cards yet, either for meditation or readings (I'll edit the review once I have), but the images seem very powerful for a first glance through. The characters on the major and court cards stare intensely at you from their windows/frames, and I feel working with them will result in some interesting experiences.I'd have liked to have awarded this deck 5 stars, but the the quality disappointed me that much. Perhaps By the time I edit this review they'll have made such an impression I can warrant changing my rating... I do hope so; it's an awful shame when they ruin someone's hard work by producing it from crappy materials.

This deck is made of good paper stock but not fully lived to my expectations.The major arcana don't have numbers, it is easy for some of the cards with a reference, but to me the magician looks like the hermit or the sun looks like many others. You could identify death, Tower, chariot, hanged man... The rest is not clear. Pictures/drawing are of good quality and so are the colours.The court card are also a mistery, true arcana their identity. Not to mention the pip cards; boring just same backgrounds I.e.red for fire/wands blue for water/cups - even more linear than the Marseille tarot.The colour and the paper stock feels OK and they come with a sturdy box.The back of the cards is very colourful but has a reverse side... so 4 stars in my book.

I am big enthusiast of Jung but I could not connect with these cards at all! Disappointing...they r just siting on my drawer

In some ways, this was an inevitable buy for my collection: Jung and tarot, what's not to like? However, what galls me is that the price is very high for a simple deck without accompanying text and one must buy the book separately too, to be able to use the book as effectively as one might hope.The art work is excellent, and the quality of the cards is better than expected after one review suggested they were poor in quality (perhaps they have been reissued on better card), though the pip cards have much less imagery to explore.Definitely recommend to anyone who has explored both the world of Jung and the world of tarot.

This "expansive" Tarot deck from Jung philosophy may complete and enlarge one's experience with tarot symbolism. You will need the The Jungian Tarot and Its Archetypal Imagery for a better understanding!

This is undoubtedly and interesting deck of tarot cards. The artwork and colours are attractive and have a dream-like quality. Beware though if you're looking for another generic Rider-Waite clone, the interpretation of the cards, especially the minor pips, are very different to those most often used for the RW deck - so this deck is not easily transferable based on a preexisting knowledge of the RW. However, that's no bad thing and this deck has much to offer particularly for meditation, and personal development work. Another caution is that you'll need the corresponding book 'Tarot Psychology' also by Robert Wang to make any headway with the deck. There is no booklet In the box meaning if you just buy the cards you won't know their meaning! - which is a real oversight. Other than that, I enjoyed this deck and it's imagery enormously.

I'm studying Jungian psychology in my MA course and bought this deck to better navigate archetypes and use them in my future practice. The deck is fine but as I was flipping through it, I was like WOW. All these figures are white and blonde-haired-- every single one. Why? I would feel uncomfortable using this deck in my community and feel it does not represent the universality of archetypes. It more accurately represents Jung's outdated ideas.
