These self-contained wire connectors only require a heat gun to fuse your wire together and seal it from the elements. replacing the under-dash lights on my boat required that I tap into and extend some connections. These worked great on both 18 and 22 gauge wired. Thinking they might work for 16 too. Looks llike a good seal and if you make double sure you don't burn your wire, use these with silicone wire. You should good for years after that!

I don't always need a water resistant splice but there is no harm in having one anyway. These are great for soldering and heatshrinking in one move. Fair price for the quantity you get (100) and seem to work very well. Definitely will be stocking up on various sizes.

This is a good price for 100 heat and seal connectors. I use a lot of 12 ga wires and connectors in my electronics experiments, vehicle work and solar power equipment.Sealing off from the weather is a bonus. Since I am slowly moving to Lithium batteries, I am setting them up outside in a sheltered area far from the house. But this introduces some moisture and sealed wires are a must.

I didn't feel I actually was able to melt the solder. Maybe it did, but you sure can't tell. It shows it's 138 degrees to melt the solder, my heat gun on the highest setting hits 600 degrees. I held this on to where I was afraid the plastic would burst into flame, and the solder didn't change shape. Maybe it's ok, but the solder just doesn't look melted inside the connector. Could just be my old eyes. I'll give it a good test and then update. Looked with a magnifying glass and it definitely did melt the solder.Besides the fact that you feel like you have to heat these too much, they are really easy to use and make a nice secure connection.

Gotten this to connect my fish finder unit to my battery. This is a unique way doing it without a soldering kit. It also seals the connection very good so water won't get in!

I do alot of small wiring in battery boxes and these connections have made my job easy. These simply melt and the solder holds the wires together, and the tube melts around the wires making a waterproof connection. Great easy solution without the need for crimping. Haven't had any wires back out and the connectors have held up well.

I know you want usage. I haven't submerged anything nor will I. Waterproof shouldn't be trusted unless you have to and I haven't had a chance to experiment. I'll update if I do.

this set of connectors are perfect for a car, boat, or anything you may need them for where the weather can be a factor. I love the fact it solders and shrinks the ends all in one swoop. I think i will be using this type of butt connectors from now on.
