SPEEDWOLF 1310/1550nm 32/30dB OTDR 5.6inch Touch Screen 120KM(74.5mi) FTTH Fiber Optic Cable Tester with Visual Fault Locator(VFL) and SC/FC-LC Adapter

We use a lot of high end test (ExFo) and characterization equipment which is big and bulky. I bought this OTDR to pre-test splicing, basic trouble shooting. As we do high production and high count fiber (576) and this unit works great. We recently needed to locate a dage for a customer and the ExFo and SpeedWolf footage reading where spot on with each other. The best thing is its small, light and battery life is outstanding.Also a quick note customer service is outstanding even after months of ownership!

This OTDR works great for footage readings. At this price, I wouldn’t hesitate to by a few, as I don’t need four 15k otdr’s. We use these in metro areas for quick footage readings, and the thing is pretty darn accurate, and an easily transportable package.The unit is nice size, but is pretty janky. The port covers will fall off, and the test software is kind of silly. I ordered mine with SC connectors, and it came with SC on the OTDR, but an FC on the VFL. The charger cord is junk, and doesn’t seat very well in the charge port. Like I said, I didn’t buy this as a primary OTDR, but it is handy to have a cheap version that is accurate, and has a VFL. It is clearly not top notch quality, but I didn’t expect it to be. If you are looking for some lower cost equipment to run opens, and test loop backs, this unit is fine. Bottom line is that you get what you pay for. They could tweak this thing a little, and I would say it was great, but it’s only ok. It serves it’s purpose. We’ll see how durable it is over time...

I bought this OTDR because of the price and the size. I have an GNNettest but this one is much smaller, battery works and is easier to carry around. I will still use the GNNettest if customer wants saved test results.

i had a defected otdr, i contacted speedwolf for a replacement. i shipped the item to the address as directed. but they were asking me about my personal info which amazon policy warns not to do. i believe there are hackers out there. i will repost if i get hacked. beware.

Terrible tech support. Instructions not clear. I returned item and is been 3 months with no refund.

Piece of junk, will not hold a charge, parameters will not set. Have bought 3, but will not buy another one
