I love this little daruma! I got the green one, and he is just a cute little guardian sitting on my tv stand in my living room. I’ve always liked the Japanese aesthetic, and I’m happy I got a nice looking daruma now. The ceramic looks great, it’s high quality. The paint colors are vibrant, and I have no complaints! This little guy would make anyone happy!

If that is something that is really important to you, I'd suggest reading some of those reviews to help decide if this is the daruma for you.For me, this daruma is no less authentic than a four leaf clover, a rabbit's foot, a horse shoe, or any other symbol of luck and prosperity one might seek out. I certainly respect the cultural tradition behind daruma, but I feel that any talisman is imbued by the power we ascribe to it, not the other way around.That said, I love this lucky dragon daruma. It may or may not be the most traditional, but it brings joy nonetheless - and with that joy comes the positive energy that gives this daruma its hopeful influence. The daruma is made of ceramic, hand painted, and with a high gloss glaze. The colors are bright and vibrant, while the gold base offers a rich shiny luster.The daruma is about the size of a small orange - big enough to fit in the palm of your hand - and has a red felt base to sit securely on any surface without rolling or scratching. When I unpacked our lucky dragon, my wife let out a squeal of glee - delighted at how cute this guy is. We placed him on a shelf on the west side of our house and he seems happy in his new home. I can say we are certainly happy to have him.Anecdotally, the day he arrived and was put in place, I did receive confirmation of a new investor in a business I am starting. A coincidence? Probably. I certainly can't make the claim that this daruma will bring you luck and prosperity, but I did find it delightful that I secured a new investor within hours of putting it up. So whether or not the mystical powers of the universe were actually at play, it was certainly a nice way to welcome this daruma into our home.

This Japanese Dragon Daruma is so unique and awesome, I had to get one! It’s made of ceramic and it’s a good size, too, about 3 inches. The top half is pretty green (symbolizing growth), with a dragon face on the front and a scale pattern on the back. The bottom half is gold (symbolizing wealth), with the kanji for “dragon” painted in red. You know the old jingle “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down”? Who knew that Weebles toys were like Darumas! Due to their round shape, Darumas never fall down, which is why they’re associated with perseverance, success, and luck. I’m giving this item five stars because I love it so much. It goes great with my Lucky Cat figure! I just wish the Lucky Shop store had included an info card explaining the symbolism, like the graphic they have on the product page. Because this would be fun to give as a gift, but the recipient might not know what it all means.
