All Things an Age of Magic Book Should Be
Okay I used to be able to say there was only a very select handful of books I've given five star reviews to. Michael went and ruined that for me entirely with the Kutherian Gambit Universe. But it's a good thing. This one is another winner. I once again fell in love with new characters (one of whom reminds me of my obnoxious older brother). I was so happy to see Arcadia rebuilding. I am loving to hate on this new villainess. It's just all things an Age of Magic book should be. Well done and I can't wait to read more.If you have yet to read anything from the Kutherian Gambit Universe let me put it in perspective for you. For me it started out with Death Becomes Her and I've read (although embarrassingly have not yet had the time to review) each book in each series and buy each one on the day it comes out, even though I could technically read them for free through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. I also own a few of the audiobooks and at some point would like to have paperbacks and audiobooks and kindle versions of each book because that is just how much I enjoy these. Plus it'd annoy my husband to no end to see paperbacks of these on our bookshelves right next to his limited edition leather bound books (if you ever do leather bound I'm so going to be buying them too). What I'm trying to say is I'm an avid reader and no other books have managed to elicit such a reaction from me. These are just so fun to read and this one is no exception.

An Entertaining Start
A very satisfying thread in the Kurtherian Age Of Magic tapestry, digging into the world of the Druids. Arryn is a worthy protagonist with exciting potential. New characters are fun to get to know and many of the people who fought in the Battle for Arcadia are still around struggling to rebuilt the city. This story is more about politics and information ops (a.k.a., fake news) than magical battles but it does have those too. Book 1 is an entertaining excursion into the world of Irth, and a great start to another adventure with a different flavor of magic. But it's just a start. Can't wait for more.Note that Amazon lists this as Book 1 of 2 in Tales of the Feisty Druid (2 Book Series), I HOPE NOT because Book 1 is just a nice start to something great and Book 2 does not end. Perhaps wait for Book 3 before diving in.

Magic is alive, as found in this latest in the Age of Magic series... Be prepared to be enchanted with a new heroine...
Well Done, Miss Crum! Your entrance into TKGU is most auspicious! When you think Arryn, squint your eyes, and envision a young BA with bow and arrows... Also, think the movies "Willow" and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy... You won't be disappointed with this latest offering under The Kurtherian Gambit Universe, in particular, "Age of Magic.." All the emotions, character development, dialog, plot- none are shortchanged... Candy Crum takes her well deserved place amongst fiction's greats, and you, the reader, are the better for it!Five out of Five Stars!

What a fantastic start to a new series
What a fantastic start to a new series! This book is part of the Kurtherian Universe and set in the Age of Magic. We are introduced to new characters and also see some old friends as well. As I don't do spoilers, I will simply say the book is extremely well written and the story so interesting that I could not put it down. With that being said, where is book 2? LOL (sorry couldn't resist). Welcome to the Kurtherian family Candy.

Well done - nice addition to the realm
You have created a good group of characters and keep the story flowing using all of them. There is something slightly off about Talia. She doesn't have enough depth. I understand the character. Maybe you have given to much of her thoughts and not enough of her abilities. Regardless, well worth reading as I look forward to the next book. Thank you

Another tale I couldn't get into.
I'm going to admit I'm giving this book 3 stars despite not having completely read it. THis is a case where I can see the talent Candy has, and I can get a good sense of where the story is going.Which is my problem. I can see the quality of the story, but I just don't know if I personally will get around to finishing it. I don't dislike it, I just found that after reading about 40% of the book, I had no emotional investment in the intrigue and didn't want to read more to get to a payoff that would feel underwhelming to me.And I want to be clear, I get a feeling that someone who has the emotional investment I lack will very much enjoy the tale. I just couldn't get into it for a number of reasons. In the end I feel it deserves a low 3 stars.

Love love love this character!
I really wasn't sure what to think of an Arcadian druid, since Arcadia and druids are not usually compatible, but Arryn is so much fun! This is definitely her coming-of-age story, as she leaves the safety of the druids in the Dark Forest and searches for the truth in her natal city. Many things have changed, but much is going on beneath the surface. Read this one and you'll be hooked!

Great start to a great series!
I’m totally hooked on Michael Anderle’s KGU books. I was a little worried about getting “side-tracked” on the Age of Magic books, but man was I wrong. Rich characters and totally engaging story lines and continuity. I’m hooked all over again! The only dilemma is what to read next. So many stories, so little time.
