Originally ordered another similar item but due to a misunderstanding, it was to arrive one week late. I called amazon who was super helpful. As it was only 2 days away from a pirate cruise my son was to attend, and too late to change the original order, the rep helped me search and found this item then offered to expedite it to me so my son could get to his party in time.I’m floored by amazons 5 star service. As a prime member, I felt they really cared for me (an individual customer amongst the millions they have). Like how you are treated when you walk into a REI coop where you are a member, part of the cooperation, and not just a one time customer.The item deserve a 5 star except for the eye patch- it’s hard, too big for a kid’s face but even as an adult, I wouldn’t wear it longer than a 15 second photo pose. The earring is cute. It is light weight with a slight clam closure.The hat is nicer than I thought. My son, who isn’t the most careful being only 9 years old, returned from a 2 hour pirate cruise and it still look ok despite the braids got caught in ‘working’ the sails and lines onboard, so some ‘hair’ were lost. Probably good for at least 1-2 more future events. Most of the braids were behind the hat but because his head was so small, it sort of wrapped around part of his side too, and I taught him how to bring the hair to the front.If you have time, it’s easy to add some beads. Make sure the beads are light as the fake ‘hair’ is really just fiber so can’t hold anything heavy.The free size hat also easily fit an adult head unless you are really big. for kids, just cinch down with the red attached sash on the hat to fit.All in all happy with purchase.

Arrived quickly for a pirate themed Scout competition. Was hot in the son and took some time to get it into shape.

I suppose it comes down to "get what you paid for), but the pirate hat is real floppy. I just used a needle & thread and threw a couple stitches near each of the points to help them stay together and look more like a pirate hat, which seemed to help (photos AFTER doing that).At the end of the day, it served its purpose, but probably wouldn't buy again if I needed something similar for whatever reason.

We own a giftshop in the outer banks. The wig makes our skeleton look more like the village famous pirate, blackbeard. We live on an island it is always windy. We leave our display outside. We have it ducktaped to the skeletons head. The fabric has held up nicely! The color has not faded in the summer sun, yet. We made the dreads in the back become his beard with a ziptie, (blackbeard vibes) and the hair has stayed sowed in nicely! Hasnt even really gotten tangled into the skeleton (and the bike has blown over a couple times) Great value for the money. roadside tested and approved!

Fit could not be any better. It was very comfortable you don’t realize you have it on

We bought this as a joke for my dad's golden retriever. He had a toe removed so we put the hat and a hook on him (for about 10 seconds to take a picture - no animal abuse here). He looked very handsome and very pirate-y.

Wish I had paid more attention to the one star reviews. The hat was complete crushed in the packaging. It can’t be remolded into the shape it should be in.
