A pretty good product
A pretty good product. Arrived on time and all the bits were there. It took me and a friend about two hours to fully assemble it without any particular drama.Once it was all screwed together it's sturdy and comfortable. I would happily recommend it to anyone with a little bit of DIY ability. You don't need to be any sort of expert. Two small niggles which prevent me giving it 5 stars are that the instructions could have been a bit more detailed. I did find some more detailed instructions on the internet and between those and the ones that came with it, we sorted it quickly. No great deal really as it's not rocket science to assemble. The other was there was quite a bit of resin seeping out the wood in places but that will clean up with a quick sand downApart from that, very pleased indeed, more to the point, so is the wife and that makes life much easier !!Do make sure you have a decent electric screw driver though, either that or buy plenty of hand cream for those blisters

Excellent
Looks great. I stained it before assembly which was ok, the instructions could be better. Still enjoyed putting it together. A couple of days later I’ve got plants round it and a clematis growing up one side it looks amazing, would highly recommend this item. The lads from Forest Green who delivered it were great. So sorry about the locals. Welcome to Hull. 🤪

Dont under any circumstances buy this product.
This product is total rubbish. Poor quality timber and badly manufactured parts.Construction plans totally inadequate. Worse than IKEA.I have tried several times to contact Amazon with no reply. Tried to return it but no response.I have now put it together by utilising parts and manufacturing others myself replacing split timber parts.

GOOD VALUE OVERALL
Solid construction. Instructions could be clearer, and short of some screws. Probably not worth full price, but good value for what I paid.

Great Looking Shelter for BBQ
Great item, thats really easy to assemble. I didn't use the seat as I used it as bbq shelter. The wood from the seat Is used to strengthen the frame of the arbour. Painted it pretty much straight away as well. Looks good and is very sturdy.

Good, not great
I put this together on my own over the course of a couple of days, spending a few hours each day, so it's definitely possible to do on your own. The end result is a pretty good looking arbour, which is also comfortable to sit in. I do like it overall and don't regret it.Now to the issues.First of all mine came without any instructions. Because of that I didn't even know that instructions existed, I thought it was just up to me to figure out where each piece went, and was struggling to do so. However on Forest Garden's website, they have a PDF you can download with instructions. Finally, things started to make sense. The other issue when building was that some of the pieces are either slightly warped, or just not put together properly, causing the same effect. As a result, you start building the frame, then realise certain pieces meant to go inside/in between don't fit, because the rectangle structure does not have proper 90 degree angles due to the warping. So a few times I had to undo some work, and put things in more loosely, in order to give allowances for the warping. This was also an issue with the bench seat, as you raise it, it scrapes one side when lower and the other side when higher, which is because things aren't at a perfect angle due to the warping or poorly put together components.Oh, I was also about 4 screws short, despite following the instructions exactly as to their usage (locations and amounts). Luckily I have plenty of screws myself so this did not affect me.The final issue is that the roof leaks. It's a bunch of slats with spaces in between, but I think the main issue is that the slats aren't smooth but rather have these horizontal grooves cut across them all over. As a result, rain runs along them rather than simply down from one slat to the next. Because of this, I bought some clear waterproof sealant to fill the gaps between the slats. However I still noticed some leakage, and as far as I can tell, it's coming through some of the knots in the slats. I've not yet sorted this, but I will probably have to spend yet more on some sort of clear waterproof paint I can use to paint over the roof and hopefully fill up any more of these gaps.
