The shiny inverted bowl shaped part of this product is made of thin metal. The other parts are plastic, including the part that projects above the bowl and holds the sprayer.There are no gaskets included with the product. The package directions say to use plumbers putty (available at hardware stores) to make a seal between the lip of the bowl and the top of the sink. The problem is that the lip of the bowl does not have a flat flange on it; it's simply a thin edge of metal.The metal part of this sprayer hose guide has a shiny finish. It's of the sort that was popular on kitchen plumbing in the 1950's. It won't go well with the more subtle nickel and copper finishes on modern faucets.On most sprayers, the water line cannot be disconnected from the sprayer head To install a new sprayer hose guide, you will probably have to disconnect the line from the faucet. Working under a sink can be tedious, especially if you have a garbage disposal in the way.I rate this product as 3 stars to indicate that it is an average sprayer hose guide.
