The Cattleman (Sons of Texas) Paperback – November 3, 2014

I liked the book but there were parts of it that made want to pull my hair. First, the so-called photographer/siren, her name was spelled so many different ways I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be much less how to pronounce it. Also could not understand why Pic and father were being so accommodating when it was obvious she was not a photographer. In places she had this poor pitiful me act going on and in the next she was this vamp stripping trying to seduce Pic. Tell her to hit the road already! You're the boss, you telling me you couldn't find a ranch hand to drive her around? Not very believable and got on my nerves. Then there's Pic who has trouble controlling his libido. I get it she was an attractive lady but if you love someone else and you know your mother sent this person there to drive a wedge between you and your girlfriend, you can't control your pants any better? I'm sorry but in essence you did cheat on Amanda, you were thinking it, you just didnt follow through with the physical act. What a hounddog. Then we have the scheming, devious mother, she needs to have her purse strings cut off then maybe she will mind her own business. Not sure where the author is going with the mama in the next book unless it turns out that she is behind all the bad things happening. There were several typos in the book but had difficult time liking some parts of the story. Anxious to see how the author portrays Troy.

If you love cowboys romance this book is for you. Anna has done it again.This book was so hard to put down. I couldn'twait to see what was going to happen next. I really like all the characters point of few. Made me feel like I was therefeeling what they were. I could also see in my minds eye all the places Anna talked about in this wonderful book. I lovebooks that suck me in so I am there. I laughed out loud an had a few tears too.I also wanted to B-slap Betty (aka Mom). Not only did she try an mess up her oldest son's relationship in The Tycoon (Sonsof Texas Book 1),But now that he's not talking to her she has set her sites on Pic her second son. She thinks she knowswhat is best for him an its not Mandy. So she tries to manipulate things to go her way. Pic an Mandy have known each other there whole lives. Dated in high school until Pic went off to collage an came homemarried. Talk about heart break. Mandy was heart broken big time but she to went off to collage an then found a husband.Both there lives have lots of ups an downs. You will just have to read this awesome book to find out what happens betweenthem an how they found there way.:-) I don't like to do spoilers but I will say it is worth reading an rereading. Irecommend this book to everyone.

Please explain to me how this is a romance book? So not getting that. A horror story but definitely not my definition of a romance book when it contains a manh_ cheating hero who treats the heroine like a box of kleenex and she lets him because she lacks self worth and pride.SPOILERS belowHero and heroine are girlfriend & boyfriend in high school. Hero went a way to college and married a sexy OW, with no thoughts of the heroine. He had already had her and she served her purpose. He was done with her. The heroine already had self esteem issues and felt the hero was too good for her and in her mind his actions confirmed those thoughts. After the OW treated him like something on the bottom of her shoe, which he deserved because how he treated the heroine, he eventually returns home. After awhile he decides that he will allow heroine meet his manly needs again. During the time that she was separated from hero she hears out about all his conquests throughout the years and yet easily allows him to use her again. She needed counseling in the intervening years to obtain a spine as well as self worth but obviously did not get it.After being with each other again OW comes to his ranch. While he has not had time for the heroine except to meet his needs, because he gets hard at seeing her, he makes time for the OW. He shows her his ranch but wants to show her a lot more and thinks about these things in detail, experiencing extreme lust. These are feelings that he never had for the heroine. He is so worked up about seeing the OW that he has phone sex with the heroine so as to get relief. He gets hard again seeing OW but eventually gets soft when he seeing the heroine. End of story. No way is he staying with the heroine without cheating in the future. No way would I ever believe a HEA with these two. Very sad.

So I waited very, very patiently for the H to get over his physical obsession with curvy blonde babes and actually want the h as more than a support post and hook up.It sorta happened when he proposed because she is reliable, a decent person and would probably stick around even when he cheats on her, plus the poor girl should get some kinda reward for being the only available piece willing to drive out to his remote ranch for a quick one.Sadly he just isn't that into her and it shows. I guess the follow - up books will be this couple's secondary story where he strays with someone else more his physical type and she dwindles into the doormat she is so pathetically eager to be.There is no love here, just the usual downtrodden h desperation and I am pretty sad I wasted my time on it.

I totally enjoyed reading this book and can't wait for book #3. The Tycoon (book #1) remains my favorite romance novel ever and although this book isn't quite as good because nothing is, it is still a 5. Besides, it gave me a good excuse to read The Tycoon again. I loved learning more about the Lockhart family and revisiting all of the characters from the first book. I also loved reading about the ranch as it felt like I was really there. Sorry Ms. Jeffrey but the only thing that you can do to make it better is to add a #4 Kate's story.

I loved both books but was disappointed in the ending of Book 2. Did they ever find out who was causing all the problems on the ranch? What about Kate and Will? What about Troy? Yt can't end like that!
