The Ultimate Bee Gees

Although I have enjoyed the music I was a little disappointed that most of the music consisted of their lessor known pieces.

The Ultimate Bee Gees  I must admit, I am a Bee Gees fanboy, but I still think this book is a must for anyone who loves to play pop tunes on the piano. All the chords/tab are clearly printed above the sheet music. You can play the sheet music and get a nice instrumental version of many of the songs, but I prefer to just learn the intros then sing and play rhythm piano using the chords. That being said, it's definitely a good book if you're looking to develop your falsetto.Overall the arrangements are very good. In my opinion, some of the more upbeat songs like "Tragedy", "Stayin' Alive" and "You Should Be Dancing" don't sound quite right as piano-only pieces, but the vast majority sound great as piano/vocal solos, and I think that's a testament to the Gibbs and their timeless songwriting. A few of my favorites to sing and play are "Love so Right", "How Deep is Your Love", "Too Much Heaven", and "I've Gotta Get a Message to You".In conclusion, this is a great book that will give you countless hours of enjoyment. It provides you with much more than any chord website can tell you and it's a great tool to help you learn some great songs.

This is a decent songbook, but I’d have to disagree with the one reviewer’s comment that the “harmonies are all written out.” Some, like Heartbreaker, indeed have the harmonies included. Most, however, are buried in the piano chords beneath the melody staff. Slightly disappointing, but nothing that a decent musician can’t handle. Also, some of the lyrics don't match the recordings. A common mistake I've seen in other books.I love books that have the notation written out for intros and solos. This is hit-and-miss throughout the book, almost as if it was compiled from several different sources. Some songs have decent notation covering horn parts, strings, etc. Other songs are modeled economically, giving you a bare-bones rendition of a particular intro or bridge. Still, we’re talking Bee Gees music, not Rush. Not too hard to get your arms around.The best thing about the book is that it’s nice, big and bright. None of that small notation that requires a flatbed scanner at 600 DPI in order to make out an arrangement.

Double CD repeated same songs mostly. Sound quality on some tracks seemed distant and echo like. Could have done a better job. But I love the Beegees.

I was hoping to get the music and words from a few of my favorite songs but the really big hits are not in this libretto

A good book with many Bee Gee songs. It covers both the "Saturday Night Fever" period, as well as their earlier "60's" songs. It has the usual vocal line with the piano part. Guitar chords are on the top.

i purchased the album for my housematew whom is a advid piano player

I returned this book as some of the songs are over 4 pages in length. When turning pages the book collapses. It would be better if it was spiral bound. If you don't like playing sharps you will not like the way the music is printed.

Been wanting this music book for ages - some great songs included - though some keys are bit tricky and key changes also. Can play a few fairly easily but rest will be a 'work in progress' I think!!
