Got tired of dropping the hand held nozzle and getting sprayed when the handle hit the ground. And the nozzles seem to always leak. Adding this fitting in between solved the issue 100%

For just a little bit more than the plastic versions of the hose end shutoff device, you can upgrade to a fully brass version. These were easy to install. The valve turn mechanism was just a little sticky at first, but I opened and closed it several times to solve this. They don't leak.My expectation is these will last so much longer than plastic hose end shut offs. The price point on these makes a great value.

They are all metal, no plastic to break and they don't leak. I think they'll last forever

These shutoffs work and get the job done. I wish the opening inside was a little larger and the handle a little bigger, but other than that I'm happy with them.

solid brass body

I included pics of a "brass" fitting I previously bought for reference. I also included a pic of another shutoff for reference to flow and durability.It is obvious in the pics the old "brass" fitting was just plated. What might not be clear is the spot I grinded on this new shutoff showing that this appears to be solid brass. It looks a little different in color due to the polishing effect but I could see it maintained the brass color.Solid brass is heavy. These shutoffs are heavy. The handle being brass as well means it won't deteriorate like the plastic handles on others have. The ball valve(on the inside) appears to be stainless steel, which is a good thing in this application as it won't corrode as easily.The flow was impressive considering the size of the opening. I assume it had something to do with the short distance from one end to other and the smooth throat. I attached it to the end of a 25 foot 3/4" hose and didn't notice any reduction in flow or pressure. These would be good without a nozzle attached for spraying the driveway off.The valve was firm indicating a good seal but not so much that it was difficult, even with my arthritis.The mating surfaces for the hose washers are plenty flat meaning they won't likely leak with a good washer. Mine sealed just fine with the included washers and only hand tight.These are a great choice!

I got these Brass Shut Offs to use on my front hose( doesn't have one) and to replace the plastic shut on my backyard hose. They are well made, heavy duty, and work smoothly. The spare washers came in handy as the old ones leaked after installation, and the new ones didn't. I use a pistol grip nozzle on the front hose, and now it won't squirt when dropping it on the ground, and I can change nozzles without shutting off the spigot. Worth the money!
