So far so good! 5 stars!
Hey ya'll. This is my very first review on amazon. For the record: I just decided to write a review just now. Nobody paid me or encouraged me to do a review, I just felt like it right this moment. I should be clear that I'm not an expert audio guy or anything--but I do go to the gym and go for runs, and I like music that's a bit heavier than most folks I meet. For me, I just mostly wanted something that would be an upgrade from the $20-$25 pair of earphones I'd normally buy...that I can use at the gym, and wont come out of my ears all the time if I'm on the treadmill or out on a run or something. I just wanted to see if it would sound noticeably better. Anyway, can confirm: these are noticeably better than what I'd been using previously, and they don't fall out of my ears on the treadmill. As far as sound quality--I'm not an expert here, like I said--but I will say that the earbuds do a good job blocking out sound, which makes it a lot easier to get lost in the music. My music is on the heavier side, and I picked these because I heard some reviews that were saying the bass would be there. As far as that goes, it is a lot MORE there than any other pair of earbuds I've ever owned. So, HUGE improvement there, and a very noticeably one to a non-expert like me. Pretty happy actually with the sound, noticeably better than the ones I've had previously. As far as fit: I don't know exactly why, but the way they did the around the ear thing is actually great. So far, there have been exactly zero issues with these slipping while I'm at the gym, out for a run, on the treadmill, etc. & etc. That for is almost worth it right there. Literally every single other pair of headphones I have ever owned have slipped and slid out of my ears at the gym. With these ones, that isn't an issue at all. Also-I think a few people on here might have mentioned about one of the earbuds becoming dislodged or disconnected or falling out or something. Just a quick note on that: I think I can sort of thing how that could have happened if you don't follow the instructions on the packaging when you install them. It's very easy to install them incorrectly, and not realize you did it wrong. I had it wrong for the first 24 hours or so. What you need to do is make sure you actually here a "click" when you put them in. One of them didn't click very easily, but it's pretty clear when you finally got it. At first I just thought oh well I guess it's probably fine, they seem like they're in there okay. But, no. You do want to actually get the click thing to click, and it does take a bit of finagling to do. Once you get it though the fit is very solid. That hasn't been an issue at all, and I've been treating them pretty roughly. I think what is probably happening is people just aren't taking the couple of extra minutes in the beginning to put them together correctly. Then, lastly, they also get loud enough. For some of the other headphones I've had, you almost needed to put it on full volume to hear much, especially at the gym or while out on a run. For these ones, I put it on about 50% or so volume and that's plenty loud enough, for sure. I think it's partly because they are a lot better about isolating the noise (and fit more snugly) than other pairs I've had....so that even lower volumes you'll get a lot more out of and don't need to blast it to overcompensate or something.Anyway overall I feel like I got my money's worth here. Music sounds better, gym experience is improved.

Solid FH1s from FiiO
I waited for the red FH1s and glad I did. Very sharp looking in-ears! I have had no problems with the cable connections. The fit is comfortable with the behind the ear loops. Plan for at least a few hours of burn in time, otherwise they start off sounding a bit. harsh. After the bun in and selection of the correct tips for your ear canals enjoy the music! Nice clean and crisp sounding in-ears with overall musical and tight sound reproduction. They are definitely not neutral with an emphasis on bass and treble with slightly recessed mids. I am enjoying them with all music genres. I've ordered a set of JVC Spiral Dot tips as I understand they could take the sound up another notch. Given the sound quality, two cables, fit. finish and good accessory set these are a Great Value for the price.EditDelete

Sounds decent but have cable issues
When I first used them I tested with the balanced cables, I noticed right away the right cable connection was loose compared to the left. When I put them in, there was no sound from the right module, as I began to take them out I got some sound. Had to play with the cable to get it at a position to get sound. Later I tested the standard 3.5 cable and the left connector had issues, it was not as bad as the right on the balanced cable. It does cut out at times, milliseconds in comparison to the right balanced cable that would just stop and required playing with it to start again. I need to get the cables replaced or the entire system.Once I got it going the sound was a bit strange, the bass was heavy, the treble was also a bit shrill and annoying. I was using the Shanling M3s I got the day before, used it with my RHA T20i and the bass was also heavy on those with the reference filter installed. The treble was less on the T20i, I did read the M3s could make phones with a treble bias sound fatiguing and that is what I experienced. I decided to test them on my balanced SMSL desktop amp, on this unit they had a more even sound, the bass had a good amount of punch and the highs were not in your face as on the DAP. The standard cable on the M3s didn’t have the same punch as the balanced cable and the highs were in a normal range. I didn’t spend much time with these cables, i’ll have to do a follow up later one I can figure out how to get the cables replaced.

Dissapointing
Had a terrible experience with this product.Out of the box, the headphones are disconnected from the wire. This isn't a big deal, but the MMCX connectors take a lot of force to click in place. So I fumbled around with that after looking through a few reviews until I was confident they clicked in place.I then moved on to plugging them into my phone and found that the headphone jack is housed in a large cylinder. It makes it impossible to connect into phones with smaller cases. In comparison to other headphones, not sure why the headphone jack needs to have such a large body around it.Worst of all, after removing my case and plugging them in, the left channel kept losing signal. I initially thought this was due to a loose MMCX connection, but seemed to work fine on my PC. I attempted to contact FiiO support about this, but got no response so I returned them.Overall, it's an annoying product. A few reviews have mentioned that the connections get loose or degrade over time; I got one already broken. The jack is too large to fit in smaller phone cases, so that might be a deal breaker for many. My last resort, contacting support, resulted in a dead end so I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
