Very loud Humming sound
The media could not be loaded. The pump works ok for what I needed it for, but man is this thing loud it hums like crazy 🤪 I even put two layers of foam padding to see if it helps well, it helped a very small amount still vibrating like crazy. My wife asked me what was that sound and I said that's the return pump for the aquarium she said that's sound horrible. So, she not happy and nor am I. looks like I will be looking for new return pump soon before it drives me crazy. I don't recommend this spend a bit more and buy a better return pump. Today is 9/1/2023.and the pump has gotten so loud that I could not sleep at night my wife was very upset that the pump was making all that noise. I woke up this morning took the pump all apart and found one of the impeller grommets that had torn apart so now I need to find a replacement part not sure where even to begin to get that part. Anyways I read on some forms that using silicone grease helps with the noise, so I tried it what a difference it made but still hear it not as loud as before but a slight hum in the room that my tank is in. oh yeah, I only had this pump for about a week and a half for it to fail that soon well my thoughts are don't waste your money on this pump save and buy a better name brand pump. New update looking at the impeller as the pump is running you can see very bad wobble going on within the pump housing so definitely there is something wrong with the pump, I will be returning the pump.
