Bargain Squier Tele!
Straight out of the box, no damage, just needed a tune up, no fret-buzz and it feels just like my high end guitars Squier has a great budget guitar making team I don't know how they do it? I did buy the debut version but sent it back because it had fret-buzz... and I think for the extra £15 this is as good feels like my Squier Contemporary telecaster and not much difference in weight but I have humbuckers on my Contemporary tele... but I own a high end Stratocaster and this Sonic tele fits right in intonation is great and the only difference is that it has one fret less though not an issue for £149 I have bought new bridge saddles (copper) and will be getting some nice Fender or Danny Gatton style pickups (in time) first I'm sure going to enjoy this one how Squier do such good work for this price? Wow frets are smooth, I think they saved a bit on the body as it is a few mm (5-7mm) thinner than my Contemporary tele. But it's definitely a bargain!!!

Really great value quality guitar
I bought this guitar after about 20 years of regret from selling a Squier Silver Series Strat Japanese build! The guitar is really well made and sounds very nice. All the switches and knobs move nice and smooth and feel solid. Some people have reported blemishes and marks on the guitars they have had but mine was flawless. At first I thought there were marks on the pick guard but then realised there's there were two layers of protective film covering it.One thing I would point out is that my neck doesn't have the skunk stripe that is shown in the images of the guitar. After reading up there's divided opinion. Some people think a guitar with a skunk stripe is a sign of better build quality but others say that if there's a solid maple neck and fingerboard then a skunk stripe isn't needed (apparently it's just there to cover up where a router has taken out a strip of the neck to attach a fixing bolt). Just something to be aware of if you have a strong opinion on this as I've heard some people when looking at a guitar will turn it round, see there's no skunk stripe and immediately discount it

Simply astonishing!
I have been playing 43 years. I own cheap electric guitars and expensive ones. Never owned a Telecaster in all that time so I thought for £145, what is there to lose? Don't get me wrong, when I was young £50 was a lot of money! So negatives first; no gig bag or case. Not a problem for me but you must factor that in if you are a young player/beginner. You have to transport it somehow! Action was a little on the high side so go online and check out how to set things up or take it to someone to set it up if you are unsure. However, it was playable and the intonation was spot on! So the positives: Everything! I was quite stunned at the quality of finish. Not a blemish on the paintwork. The neck is perfect with a standard 9.5 inch radius just like my USA Strat! The frets are well dressed. After a few minor tweaks, it plays as well as any guitar I own. The pickups give a full tone, just like a Telecaster should have and the neck pickup is sublime! I have just removed a second layer of pickguard protection and to be honest I simply do not know how they do it for this price! I would happily pay another £100 for this guitar. Leo Fender would be so proud! Yes, the Chinese have arrived! Just like the Japanese did in the 70's! Now I wonder what their Stratocasters are like?

Value for money
Guitar is well made, has a decent tone and a good weight to it. Out of box set up was good. Minor amount of tuning required. Good starter guitar and a good piece of kit for the money.

Going to buy the other colours. Great guitar.
Always wanted a tele but for some reason I never bought one. Straight out of the well packed box it plays really well. I only tuned it and plugged it in. The neck is comfortable which you expect from fender and there are no sharp frets. I didn’t set it up yet but it sounds and plays great. I’ve always used Squier guitars at home because they come setup and ready to play. I love the way you can see the wood sections through the paint but this might not be for everybody. Can’t wait to set it up properly and get my strings on it if I works this well from go.
