Furniture Paint / Melamine Paint - Excellent quality!
Genuinely “Does what it says on the tin”...I really like this paint, it gives a lovely durable and smooth finish. It’s consistency is thick and I find it goes on best with clean, smooth brush (the thickness and fast drying meant that mini-rollers and sponges where too apt to clogging up).I found that it dried preserving most of the brush marks or drips and had to sandpaper those out. I buffed it which got rid of any scratch’s from the sandpaper. Extra layers went on nicely and blended really well.I accidentally spilt white spirit on a door that I had painted only hours earlier, I was rather stressed but it turned out to have no effect on the paint so it must be fairly impervious!I tried Dullux version of melamine/Furniture paint after previous successful use with this Ronseal branded one, I didn’t expect there to be much difference but the Dullux paint was terrible (it literally stayed wet for weeks until I gave up on it, had to wipe and scrape off the Craplux off... Massive waste of money and time and anxiety about the price of furniture that I was making!).It does have a very strong odour which seems to go away with drying but I think that this is unavoidable when looking for a type of paint that is so smooth, applicable to all surfaces that I have tried, (from crappy chipboard and even laminated flat pack furniture!) and durable.I have asthma and am not keen on wearing the sweaty protective masks so, if anyone reads this and knows something equally good quality that these attributes but without the fumes please answer in the comments. Thanks :)

Not as thick as expected & drying time is longer than stated but excellent finish so worth it
Have used this paint before. It gives a good finish. This time round I found the paint thinner more liquid and drying time between coats was over 24 hrs. However the finish is excellent quite tough and better than using a standard white gloss

Did the job
I’m replacing my kitchen cupboard doors so used the paint to cover the sides of cupboards and top and underneath as they were a light oak colour. Happy with the results but definitely not one coat it took 3 coats to cover! Is quite thin paint but the end result was really good.

Inconsistent quality.
I bought a second tin of this paint because I was so impressed with the first and had used it up. The first tin was touch dry in an hour, very hard wearing, thick and lovely to paint. The second tin is the complete opposite. It is very watery, thin and transparent and still not touch dry 8 hours later. I have requested a refund. I thought I had found the perfect gloss and am so disappointed. I only hope it is dry in a few days, before carpet fitter arrives 😱

Excellent product
This product took a few days to arrive but came before the expected delivery date and had to be signed for. It was packaged securely to avoid damage to tin and leaks in a good sized box. I used it in a wood effect bed frame. The melamine paint is quite runny in consistency so watch for drips. I used it over a melamine primer as I was covering a wood effect melamine so can't comment on wether it stands up to being one coat. It recommends using a brush but I wasn't happy with the finish. Whilst it was glossy I could see the brush strokes so I used a gloss roller. This gave me a textured finish and a semi gloss but seeing how I am going to seal with a polyacrylic varnish anyway I can live with that. I left it for 24 hours before recoating as I wanted a good finish. Would recommend.

Effective but thick to use
We needed more than one coat but it takes some getting used to as it's thick to apply. It does givea nice gloss finish though

Great coverage
Looks great and covers well. Used on cupboards and on skirting boards instead of gloss as it keeps the colour longer. Used this product for years.
