This shelving unit is made from numerous pieces, each of which is well constructed. Assembling the shelves is child's play with each of the pieces interlocking well. Once in place, the pieces stay put - I don't agree with a another review that expressed concern about the top half of the shelving unit coming away from the bottom half. I can't see how this can happen if the shelves are put together properly.I didn't encounter any shop edges and assembly was a breeze. I would, however, highly recommend the use of a rubber mallet. It would've been much more time-consuming and difficult without this item.Instructions are not great but assembly is straight- forward without instructions. I bought and assembled three units. The first unit took 30 minutes; the third unit took around 10 minutes to assemble.Only one problem: one of the shelve supports is missing the small studs by which it clips into place. This is easily resolved (using nuts and bolts) but QA st the factory should prevent this sort of thing from getting to the customer.Not sure how long the MDF will survive in a garage. I will update my review a year's time.Overall: excellent for the price I paid.

Item arrived extremely fast and packaged really well.Putting together; Teeny bit fiddly at first, could have done with another pair of hands, but became easy after adding base side panels.. plain sailing after that.Use; Hand and power tools, a cupboard full of tools, and accoutrements.Construction; The connection design gets 100% from me, as one that abhors bad design!, really impressed with that!, easy to negotiate and is the reason the shelving is tight and strong. Neat and tidy looking, and for me, the perfect fit and virtually weightless making it easy to manoeuvre in place. Wish I had found this earlier, it has made DIY life so much easier on equipment access, time and the eye!.I would certainly recommend it, and would buy again.

i took a bit of time looking at many of the listing here for this unit and decided to go with this one and i am 100% glad i did!very easy to put together some bolts were a little tight but i had a rubber mallet to whack them the last little notches to sit flush.if you dont have a rubber mallet a plank of wood over the frame and a normal hammer can be used this saves marking the shelf.i dont understand one review saying cutting the shelves mine fit perfectly.i also put mine up alone in under 20mins this included me wiping the packing dust off and moving it to the room it was going in.maybe the brackets were put on upside down? the larger lip end is top so the board sit on them.also no sharp edges i noticed in alot of other listing for this unit alot of reviewers were saying razor sharp they were getting cut to wear gloves etcnot a problem with this unit at all.i would buy more i was able to fit alot of stuff on mine and i bought it for extra storage for cleaning baking supplies containers slow cooker kitchen gadgets etcvery good sturdy unit!

The assembly is easier than some reviews indicate. It's fairly obvious where the bits go. Slotting it together is slightly tricky at the start, but becomes easier and the tight fit is inevitable to ensure the rack's sturdyness. Overall a good product and great value for money.

Arrived within 2 days and is now in my lounge accommodating all my messy h-fi, only it is not messy any more,Ingeniously designed needing no bolts etc - just a rubber hammer which gently joins the various sections.It is very lightweight, but once your items are on the shelves, it seems quite sturdy. If your items are heavy then I should attach it to the wall.Just one quibble, instructions not very helpful. Took me an hour and a half to assemble as I made one or two errors.I have added some heavy duty castors on a piece of contiboard because I need regular access to the cables. Works a treat.Moves very easily.Finally, I think the price, which includes postage is unbelievable. I was toying with the idea of building a unit myself, but it would have cost 3 times what this unit cost, and think of the hassle! I would unhesitatingly recommend this gem to anyone.

Cost, Quality and Delivery on Time..

After reading some of the reviews for shelves like these I was dreading trying to put them together, but when I finally stopped procrastinating I was very pleased and able to put them up simply in around 20 minutes with just a rubber mallet to tap the pieces into place. The ones I received were well finished, no overly sharp edges and fit together quite easily. A couple of tiny chips on the edges of one of the shelves, but nothing too noticeable.Had there been 8 rubber feet instead of 4 I would have happily given 5 stars, however if using as 2 shorter units as I am, there are only enough feet for one of the units.(Edit) I've uprated to 5 stars, because all things considered these are still really good :)

Beware ! Defective item ! Absolutely impossible to put the segments together, the holes are NOT big enough to accommodate any segment. Even with strong hammer or Mallet. I have just built very similar one from another band and it was much MUCH better. This one has a clear DEFECT. Beware & buy another brand !EDIT : Beware ! Impossible to Return this defective item either ! As you have to pay at your own shipping cost which is an extra £40, so you'll end up paying close to £80 for nothing , and no guarantee that they may refund you part of it at all. Lesson learned, I'll never buy from this seller or this type of products from Amazon ever again.
