I bought this to cook a whole chicken because I'd read how good clay pots are. Well, I've never tasted chicken so moist and wonderful! My grandson says it's the best chicken ever! I have cooked fish in it also and that turned out so good too. If you're looking for a clay pot then I would definitely recommend this make.

I you have never used one of these, you don't know what you are missing out on. Food perfection in every way. Perfect chicken every time with meat falling off the bone. You can cook every thing in this to perfection. It's simple to used and easy to clean. You can cook your meat and veg all at the same time. Prep every thing, place it all inside cold, put the lid on, place in a cold oven, turn on. take out and YUMMY!

Returned to romertopf after long wait. Flavour and ease of cooking is everything. Surprised by the quality of cleaning in dishwasher. Love it.

I was devastated to find my old Romertopf broken in the cupboard. I'd had it probably 20 years; a gift from my mother. Very well used. I was delighted to find such a choice on Amazon and spent time choosing just the correct size. Some of these are really big and take up the whole oven space, but I wanted to be sure to leave at least room for one other shelf to cook on. This has a glazed interior, unlike my old one, which is a benefit in that its easier to clean. I use it most frequently for roasting chickens, but because of the included leaflet of instructions, I'm going to make more effort to cook other meats in it. It's one of those cooking utensils that I find I can't go wrong with. Perfect roast chicken every time - never dry or overcooked, the meat just falls off the bones, but you still have the benefit of the crisp skin on top.

This is my third Römertopf. I love the flavour from meat/chicken and the stock is great for soups. Unfortunately on the two previous occasions it is the lids I knocked against something and it's a pity I couldn't purchase a lid on its own. The full dish is costly for pensioners and those on welfare payments.

I absolutely love this. I use it to cook a variety of meats in, not just chicken. The result is deliciously moist meats. When I first received it I thought soaking it in water before use would be a pain but it's not at all. I simply put the Romertopf in water when I start preparing the meat and vegetables. When I'm finished its all ready to go. I use it almost daily.
