I have stained wood windowsills with two layers of this varnish on top. Kitchen, bathroom sills have not been affected by moist air. Also, when I've left windows open and rain has blown in, it seems to not be affected. However, if you need something that will withstand constant immersion in water, try yacht varnish. Otherwise, this stuff is fine. Note/very hot water on it may make it " bloom" ie, those white watermarks such as those rings you get from cups if not using coasters.

Q: Could you coat this with a water based polyurethane?

I have not done this so don’t know but in principle see no reason to think there would be a problem.

Hi used it on pine food flooring, did 2 coats to seal off properly and fine sand inbetween coats. Dries quick can be slightly diluted with water. Would suggest to purchase inbetwwen 2.5L - 5L for your project.

When considering application for a veneered surface we always advise that you seek guidance from the manufacturer of the item. This is due to the different make up of adhesive's that are used during manufacturing and their preference is always advisable. Once guidance has been advised we would then try our best to match a suitable product for their application. If they state they can use water based products then the Interior Varnish can be used and this will seal the MDF and Veneer. If they state its solvents to be used they would be better with the Ultra Tough Varnish. I hope this helps to answer your question.

Quick and very good looking

Dried up pretty quickly on a warm day, like 20 minutes quick.I did 3 coats in 1 hour using foam brushes. Very good finish. Smooth to eye and touch with a light shine.

Your delivery will be here Saturday by 8pm, great I’ll do the windows Sunday, waits in all day and at 8pm it changes to be here Wednesday, arrives Monday? So well packaged and I’m sure the product is fine but let down again by Yodel, why do people insist on using them?
