Brilliant gift for my daughter
My daughter wanted this after playing with one at school. It really is great, she has lots of fun with it making different things. There is a booklet with it which provides instructions for many inventions. This was a really good buy but does come with many small parts so best to keep the box in a safe place away from small children

This not a new item
I bought this as a present for my grandson, it has arrived in a very battered box not sealed. I paid a price for new and I am very disappointed. I don’t know if everything is there. At nearly £80 it’s an expensive item

Hours and hours of learning fun
Excellent learning toy, maybe a bit expensive, but you do get a high quality product. The instructions are clear and simple and our 9 year old loves trying the different configurations. Hours and hours of great play fun.Highly recommended.

Good educational toy
I bought Explorer 2 electronics kit for my 6 yr old son. Although the recommended age group is 10+, but I bought it because at his age, he can make smaller circuits and when he grows up, he can make complex circuits (if the toy lasts for that long). He really likes the solar cell, which shows 6v in bright sunlight, and 0v without any light. He can also make many small circuits.I had compared Explorer-2 electronics kit (46 GBP), john adams hot wires kit (40GBP), and maplin's electronics kit (20GBP), and Primary Plus electronics kit (25GBP) before buying this toy. Maplin's electronics kit is almost same as Explorer-2, but its not suited for young children. John Adams kit appear to have much better build quality compared to Explorer-2 kit. But, Explorer-2 kit has more number of items (like no solar cell, support for PC oscilloscope (haven't tried yet)). Besides cheap build quality, it says you can build 900 or so circuits, but in reality, I think you can only build 100-150 or so.Its slightly expensive, but a good educational toy.You can look for more details and photos on Manufacturers website.

Fantastic product
This was brought as a present on behalf of someone else, they brought the smaller product previously and recipient loved it and they were both equally over the moon with this. Excellent product, service and delivery. Thank you.

Expensive but worth every penny
My 10yr old son loves this set. Plenty of projects for him to get stuck into. Instructions not to difficult but not too easy. I thought it was expensive when I ordered it, but now I've seen the quality, I can see that it is worth the money.

It's good, but some important negatives to consider before buying
It's good, but some important negatives to consider before buying:- there are some sound chips 'Space War', 'Police Siren' and something else which may as well have been 'caterwauling cat scratching a chalk board'- These sound chips are integral to 80% of the experiments and unnavoidable.- The manual doesn't do much in way of explaining what's happening or how the components work. You might need to research that elsewhere. That said, it is very good value. There are lots of peices which all clip together easily. The box is well laid out to help keep them organised and I was impressed with the replaceable fuse on the battery units which shows good level of consideration. We haven't tried the CD yet - I expect there are lot's of things on there.

Very Exciting Present for 11-14 year olds
This is a well constructed and exciting piece of kit.It provides hours of educational interest for keen young minds. All the basic electronic components are included together with some very interesting integrated circuits.Youngsters can easily learn at their own pace but should be advised to learn as they progress through the instructions, thus enabling them to understand the more complex circuitry towards the end of the booklet.
