Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the longawaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic actionadventure based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The screenplay is by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, Trevorrow and Derek Connolly and the story is by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers. 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to respark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly. It comes only in blu ray 3D and digital HD ultra violet.

The 3D + 2D blu-ray is on its way
UPDATE 30/11/2015Amazon have resolved this issue and are sending a complementary copy of the new 3D + 2D blu-ray release to all customers who pre-ordered. I will therefore amend my 1 star review to the 5 stars that the film deserves. Shame on Universal for attempting to stiff their British audience, but much respect to Amazon who have obviously heard the complaints of their customers and pressed for this much-better-than-expected resolution. All's well that ends well :) Original review below.-----------------------------------------------------------I fancied watching this tonight but really wasn't in the mood for 3D, and was totally astonished to discover that there is no 2D blu-ray disc in the pack!! Of all the 3D blu-rays I've purchased I have never, ever, come across this cheap, cost-cutting, rip-off before. I don't always want to watch my movies in 3D and as others have said the picture quality is poor if you switch it off and watch the image intended for 'one eye'.Of all the 3D movies to screw us over they had to choose the most popular (and my favourite) one of the year. Well mark my words, my fingers are feeling burnt and I won't be falling for it again - you don't get to screw me twice Universal!!What us Brits get:Disc 1: 3D Feature Film (That's it!! Nothing else!!)What the Americans Get:Disc 1: 3D Blu-ray Feature Film + Bonus FeaturesDisc 2: 2D Blu-ray Feature FilmDisc 3: DVD Feature FilmBonus Features:Digital Copy of Jurassic World (Digital Copy redemption code subject to expiration. Amazing, sharp 3D visuals, funny with plenty of action at a great price, well worth it.
Great movie to showcase 3D, lots of depth all throughout the movie, good blend of action, comedy & breathtaking visuals, I watched it with my 12 year old nephew and we both really enjoyed it, one of the best 3D movies I've seen. As stated in the description it also comes with a code so you can watch the 2D version in High definition if you want. I will be watching this again in the future as the brilliant depth of the 3D along with the movie itself means it's worth seeing again for sure.I have the original Jurassic Park in 3D, it's nothing compared to Jurassic World the 3D technology has come a long way since the original movie was released. This 3D bluray is great value for money and it arrived quickly, so along with everything else I've stated this deservedly earns a solid 5 stars from me.

Wow ! Jurassic World in 3D.
Okay ,so its a bit cheesy and far fetched at times , but what a roller coaster of a movie thatlooks absolutely brilliant in 3D. I had not seen a 3D film in a while, ( it appears that the Britishpublic have not fallen in love with 3D movies ) the last 3D film I went to the cinema to see withmy grandchildren was Ready Player One , which was super in 3D. It could be that the 3D film formatis destined to die out ,which is such a shame as it is such a whole lot of fun watching a 3D movie on abig screen TV at home with the family or at the cinema .

Fantastic film, great 3D - shame about the lack of 2D disk
The 3D Blu-Ray has really divided me on this review. If i was reviewing the film alone, this review would be a 5 star. That may seem overenthusiastic, given the various shortcomings of the film, but when I first left the cinema having seen it I did so with a giant smile on my face and a wish to see it again almost instantly (which I did the next week...) and there aren't too many films that make me do so. The 3D effects really pop and in my view actually add to the film, rather then being a distraction. The animation is top notch and the pace rarely lags.Jurassic World falls firmly in the category of blockbuster crowd-pleaser. It certainly isn't going to win any oscars and the plot holes are numerous and often glaring. The film has its tongue firmly planted in its cheek, lambasting commercial sponsorship with the script, while simultaneously presenting the audience with the Samsung Innovation Centre at Jurassic World. It also takes aim at the audiences and what they increasingly demand from films: "The first park was legit. You didn't need any genetically modified monsters, just dinosaurs."There are some great references back to the first three films, which all serve to create a feeling of nostalgia, and its great to see a vision of the park actually up and running. The chemistry between the two young brothers doesn't quite get there, and is a relatively poor substitute for Tim and Lex from Jurassic Park. Similarly, while Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do a great job in my view as the adult leads, they don't really have any character development and end the film apparently unchanged from as they were at the beginning. Some characters seem to dissolve into cliche, especially the only character to return from the previous films. I don't want to give anything away for the few people who probably don't know, but by the time the individual responsible for the carnage comes to discuss his errors, coldly and indifferently while pouring cups of herbal tea, you feel it's something more worthy of Blofeld than the character they were previously. However, the real kicker which has resulted in the star deduction, is the package contents. Unlike every other 3D Blu-Ray I have ever purchased (and I've purchased many), the box does not include a 2D Blu-Ray. Open it up and all that's in the box is the 3D disk and the UItraViolet code. There is a legitimate question to be asked as to why you would buy the 3D version wanting to watch it in 2D but it is an option that the customer really should have. In my case, I love 3D films but my parents struggle with watching them and my fiance prefers the 2D in any event.Ultimately, the UltraViolet provides an HD 2D version if you have the facilities to use it. I do, but the convenience is lacking. In the film's defense, the box does not say a 2D version is included, but nobody is really looking at the little words at the top of the box on the website, especially given as I have never known this to be the case before.
