The Little Black Book Of Beatles Songs For Ukulele: Songs for Ukelele

Not for beginners.
195 songs, but few with only a few chords. Most have 8 to even 18 chord changes to master. The book format is also too small (a paperback book size) and doesn't lend itself to being sat open to learn from. (Unless you invest in a book stand with holders.)Sadly therefore not recommend for ukulele beginners. But I suppose if you do want to get good at the ukulele you could start at the easy songs, a few only here though.Note: it does not cover every Beatles song, only 195 of them which is still a lot.

Excellent book but requires a spiral binding for ease of use.
Simply put, it's the Beatles arranged for ukulele. Think of a song by them and it's likely to be in here (including more obscure tracks like 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road?'). Some are easy, consisting 3 or 4 chords, but others contain a lot more and some fast changes! I'd say I'm an average quality player and the good thing about this book is that there are songs that anyone can play (from a beginner knowing a few chords to a competent player looking to improve). You don't need to be able to read music as chord boxes are shown at the top of the song page along with the various chord changes above the song lyrics. The only reason I've given this book 4/5 is down to the spine binding. It really needs a spiral binding so that the book stays open on the song you're playing. I use a Stagg music desk stand but even that struggles to keep the book open in the right place at times. If you love the Beatles and love your Uke then this is an essential purchase.

Highly recommended.
Great to have this 'Ukelele' version of the Beatles' Black Book.

Good exercise for brain and fingers
Kindle format is ideal for this book - you can prop it up in front of you or put it on a music stand. Great to have all the words and chords for practically every Beatles song ever written nice and clearly laid out. However, as Ringo sang "You know it just ain't easy..." The chords given here are quite tricky (C#m(maj7) anyone?) and seem to come from the guitar versions. Many of the songs would be a lot easier to play on the uke if transposed, and even the simple chord patterns are often given with extra unnecessary fingering.

Filled with most Beatles songs.
Great book of songs the only negative it would be better had they done a larger size.

Great little book!
A great little book, with every Beatles song you can think of along with some I'd never heard of. Easy to play using the chord boxes at the top of each song. Some of the chord boxes were different to the way I play some of the chords, at times suggesting more tricky ways to play a chord than I would use, also the book doesn't stay open without help - I use a large bulldog clip and this works fine.

The transcriptions are accurate and not over-egged and the only reason that I can't give it 5 stars is that like all of the "Little Black Book" range it's small format and tight binding make it hard to work from. I tend to hand-copy a selected piece into a larger format to work on it when using this range of books; if you don't wish to do that sort of thing it might not be for you.

This book is great, it's got the ukulele chords and lyrics for almost every Beatles song ever recorded, in the original key signatures. I had trouble thinking of Beatles songs that AREN'T in here (drew a blank after "Maggie Mae" and "Revolution 9"). Some are easy, e.g. "Love Me Do" has just 3 chords, whereas others are trickier, e.g. "Martha My Dear" has 19 different chords and about 90 chord changes.Top tip: if it's too small for your music stand then try using a cookery book stand to hold the pages open.
