Detailed Overlook of Season Four
(Included/Extras)- Episodes 84-122 (Covering 2 Sagas: Tien Shinhan Saga and King Piccolo Saga)- English Audio- Japanese Audio- English Audio with Subtitles- Japanese Audio with Subtitles(Exterior Box)NOTE: (Amazon has listed a Dragon Ball Z 'Season Two' cover art (featuring Goku) as the listed-picture on this product, even though this is not Dragon Ball Z, it's Dragonball (the original series) which aired before Dragonball Z, so, if you're wanting to buy Dragon Ball Z Season 2, then this is not the place to do so, watch yourself).(If you are planning to buy multiple Seasons of this show, but, you are worried about the Box-colours being inconsistent (Some Seasons on Amazon showing a Blue box, and others a Yellow Box) then not to worry, because I can confirm that all the Boxes of every Season are Yellow, despite Amazon listing some of them as Blue (Blue like the American release).- Box Front: The front of the box has a picture of King Piccolo sitting in his bone-throne with his fist clenched.- Box Spine: The side of the box has 'Dragon Ball' plastered down the side in Blue and Red writing, directly underneath is a small picture of King Piccolo's Head (Same as the front cover's picture) with 'Season four' written directly above and 'Episodes 84-122' written directly underneath.- Box Back: On the back of the box (to the left-hand side) it has a few screenshots from this Season's episodes. Directly to the right of that: There's a synopsis on this box-set's included Story (Season 4). Underneath that is some nice artwork of Goku appearing angered whilst mid-kick.This Product also features a Reverse-cover which has the exact same Box-art, only difference being that it is a Clean version of the original Box-art (No Toei Animation or MangaUK Logos on the front cover, and down the Spine of the box)(Interior Box)- Once you open the box-- You'll notice that this Season's box-set has a different layout for the Discs compared to the other Seasons. All 6 Discs are piled on-top of each other instead of Disc X Semi-overriding Disc Y (if you're worried that this may effect the Discs in-terms of keeping them unscratched, then not to worry. Even though the Discs are piled on top of one and other, the box is designed to make sure they do not grind up on one and other, deeming them unscathed).- All the Discs have the same Art, and are primarily dominated by the colour Green.- The Top of the Disc says Dragon Ball in Blue and Red writing.- The Centre of the Disc has a Black-strip with 'Season Four' written on it (in White) alongside the Disc Number (In Yellow) and the Episodes on that Disc (In Yellow).- The Bottom of the Disc there's a cut-wide-shot picture of King Piccolo's eyes and nose (The same art from the front Cover of the Box- only cut down to only show King Piccolo's eyes and nose), just underneath the Piccolo-art, there's the Logos of Toei Animation and MangaUK.(Brief-synopsis)Tien Shinhan Saga:For the last three years Goku and his friends have been in intensive training. Krillin and Yamcha spent their time with a wise master of martial arts, the Turtle Hermit Master Roshi. Goku, having grown stronger than his teacher, was instructed to venture off by himself into the world, seeking new experiences and developing his own potential. When the time of the tournament arrives, Yamcha and Krillin arrive to sign up for the tournament with Bulma, Launch, Oolong, Puar, Turtle and Master Roshi there to watch and cheer them on; unknown to the gang, Master Roshi secretly signs up using the alias which he used to win the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament during the Tournament Saga, Jackie Chun. While they are waiting for Goku to arrive they are confronted by Master Roshi's arch-rival, Master Shen. Master Shen is entering his two students, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu, in response to Goku making the finals in the previous tournament. Master Shen is determined to show up Master Roshi and prove the superiority of his school. The conversation quickly degrades to a trading of insults between the two hermits before Master Shen abruptly leaves.Goku arrives shortly after and the group enjoys a brief reunion. Goku, Yamcha and Krillin then change into their Turtle-style uniforms and meet up with Jackie Chun, whom Goku promises to defeat this time around.King Piccolo Saga:Goku, Krillin, Tien Shinhan and all the others go to dinner to celebrate their World Martial Arts Tournament victory (held during the Tien Shinhan Saga). Goku then realizes that he forgot his Dragon Ball and his Power Pole at the Stadium, so Krillin goes back to retrieve them. Sometime after he leaves, Goku senses that something is wrong and quickly rushes to find him. He finds Krillin's dead body and the World Tournament Announcer at his side. The trembling referee explains that a hideous monster (later found to be Tambourine) killed Krillin and then flew off. He says that the monster also took a list of all the fighters in the tournament and Goku's Dragon Ball. Goku's friends soon follow him and also find Krillin's body. Enraged and grief-stricken, Goku grabs his Power Pole, takes the Dragon Radar from Bulma, and dashes off in pursuit of the killer despite Master Roshi's orders to stop, using the Dragon Radar in conjunction with his stolen Dragon Ball to track the killer down. Oolong finds a piece of paper with the killer's symbol on it nearby, and a horrified Roshi recognizes this symbol and Krillin's death as the work of the evil King Piccolo.Master Roshi tells the others of a time when the world was suddenly over-run with hideous and seemingly invincible monsters, that made their way through civilizations, destroying all in their path. Eventually the creatures arrived at Mutaito's dojo, where in battle the entire school fought the monsters. However, only a few of the monsters are killed while only two pupils made it through, Master Roshi and Master Shen. Master Roshi explains the monsters prepared a joint mouth blast and fired it at the two, but they concentrated their energy into a shield and fired the attack back, destroying them.Following this, King Piccolo appeared before them and sends them flying into part of the Dojo with a single blast to the ground in front of them. Master Mutaito soon stepped in, but King Piccolo made short work of him, humiliating him in front of his students and leaving him for dead. After being nursed back to health, Mutaito left them both; while Shen eventually lost faith, Roshi did not. As King Piccolo's rampage continued, Master Roshi found refuge in the nearby mountains, where years later Mutaito returned to him, with an electric rice cooker.Mutaito had trained hard and eventually used the suicidal Evil Containment Wave (Mafuba) technique to trap King Piccolo in a jar. After personally disposing of the jar by throwing it into the ocean, Master Roshi founded the Turtle School based on Mutaito's teachings. Over time, civilization was rebuilt, and humanity forgot about King Piccolo's rampage. However, Emperor Pilaf released King Piccolo after finding the jar and asking the Namekian villain to help him get the Dragon Balls, but King Piccolo had his own plans and instructed Tambourine to kill every fighter from the two previous tournaments, viewing them as potential threats.Goku finally tracks down Tambourine and engages him in combat, but, as Goku is still weak from his fight with Tien, Tambourine easily outmatches him and destroys the Flying Nimbus, proceeding to beat Goku senseless and drop him to the ground, presuming him to be dead. Goku awakens battered and hungry in the middle of a forest, and soon stumbles upon a giant fish cooking over an open fire. Soon after he is confronted by Yajirobe, after which he is accused of eating Yajirobe's fish. They then have a quick fight in which they are evenly matched, with Goku surprised that Yajirobe is tough enough to take his punches and Yajirobe likewise surprised at how fast and strong Goku isSome time later, King Piccolo then creates another son named Cymbal whose purpose is to find the Dragon Balls. King Piccolo wants the Dragon Balls in order to wish for his youth to be returned, deeming him almost invincible. Yajirobe has a Dragon Ball, and this leads Cymbal to attack him. Yajirobe kills him, and, due to his hunger, eats him, saying he is excellent meat. Tambourine, who was getting ready to finish off Yamcha in a filler segment exclusive to the anime, is then ordered by King Piccolo to attack them in revenge for Cymbal's death, but at this point Goku is at full strength and kills him easily with his Kamehameha, completely incinerating him in the process. Yajirobe is then angry because he wanted to eat another creature that size.(Overall)Literally, there's not a single thing I can think of that I didn't like about this Season. It'a flawless. The Tien Shinhan Saga is one of my favourite Sagas of the entire show, and it is by far my favourite Tournament Saga of the 3. The fights are fantastic in this Saga, the rivalry between the Turtle Hermit school vs the Crane Hermit school is great and humorous at times. Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu are 2 great characters of the show, and become a huge part of the Show, even after this Saga is over. The King Piccolo Saga is easily my favoutire Saga of the entire show, there's just no way I can accurately portray how great this Saga is in words. This Saga is just... fantastic. King Piccolo is the most dangerous, ruthless character in the entire Series. He makes the show feel more intense than it has ever done, considering how dark he makes this show during this Season. He's a gigantic threat to all of Human-kind, and the battle between Goku and King Piccolo at the end of this Season gives me chills everytime I watch it. Alot happens during this Saga, deaths to multiple characters, Goku attempting to find a way to become stronger than Piccolo, and the search/battle to obtain the Dragon Balls. It's ultimate, and is the pinnacle of the entire show (in my opinion).Oddly, the Box of this Season feels slightly stronger than the other boxes of the show, god knows why. But, it's nothing I can complain about. There are some minor issues with this box-set however (Season 4), there are no special features (which irate some people) however, this isn't my biggest concern. My biggest concern is that since all the Discs are piled on top of one and other, it can be rather difficult to remove certain Discs (especially when you get near the final Discs). Either way, you need to get this Season. I doubt you'd regret it.10/10

Good show but bad Packaging
It has the 2 best dragonball arcs in my opinion and when king piccolo turns up it is basically Dragonball Z only a little more cartoonish, some of the voice acting is dodgy and the animation is at the standard of Z but it gets the job done. As far as I can tell it's completely uncensored and has some pretty Fun stuff that would never be allowed on a western cartoon show particularly some of master Roshis antics. One bit that made me laugh was when a little girl picked up a realistic rifle and was aiming at King Piccolo.Only real negative is the box, It has six disks and there are stacked on top of each other which is a real pain and can not be good for the them. There also no DVD extras of real note, no features or commentaries just some character bios that are on each disk.It has an option for Japanese tho which is nice.
