Daphne Rose Kingmaker is one of my favorite authors!What an exciting surprise to find she had written a novel!Usually I only read non-fiction, including bios, memoirs, self help, personal growth, heavy duty spiritual studies...After I moved to southwest Florida, settled in a bit and reconnected with Daphne, she told me about her book, available on Amazon, ordered it immediately and it’s been a difficult to put her book down. It was the perfect accompaniment for poolside reading! As one reviewer pointed out - she wants to keep reading, yet,doesn’t want it to end! Such a dilemma!I wonder how this book would translate into a series - on perhaps, Netflix!?I love reading the reviews - so many eloquent woman have said exactly what I would say if I had their talent of self expression!Buy this book and give it as holiday gifts - that’s what I’m doing!Love and light, Daphne Weld Nichols

Daphne Rose Kingma captures the essence of wonderful storytelling within her novel, The Magical World of Madame Metier. From the opening paragraph through the final paragraph, this is a magnificent read and that's the bottom line.A widely recognized speaker, lecturer and a noted author of numerous non-fiction works, all of which I have read, Kingma has, in her first novel, successfully conceptualized and configured an elegant mosaic of a storyline with fascinating characters who truly matter; 'real people' in the realm of a timeless 'modern' (or not) mythological tale who possess and display personality traits and behaviors that are as unexpected as they are entirely human. Kingma's ability to meld the characters to one another as each of them navigates her or his own journey through the unknown of the heart and mind is mesmerizing. What was so enjoyable and made it difficult to set the book down between readings is that I wanted to know what was next, who was doing what and why? On one hand I wanted to get to the next mini-chapter, while on the other hand, I didn't want the book to end. This is a masterful 'page turner' in the very best sense, a literary work written with a graceful and powerful tempo. Kingma utilized the insights and intuition of a fine portrait artist and a conscientious stage director who 'saw' the story in her mind and heart and was able to transform it into a cogent, consistent and delightful book, what I believe is an instant classic.

That Ms Kingma transcribed her resplendent imagination into printed words from a hotel in the luminarious City of Light, serves to heighten the allure of being abducted into the reverie and inherent charm of her delightfully impassioned fairy tale. It is no coincidence that her own light and love also luminesce, shining brilliantly through the prism of her recent rendering of ‘The Magical World of Madame Métier’. Her novel emanates each and every color of her broad spectral radiance and is a glowing testament to her true essence. Ms Kingma is, indeed, every bit as magical as is her so entitled world of ‘Madame Métier’.So there I was, happily curling up on my couch for a cozy date with my new book. It wasn’t long however, before I began to feel someone else in the room. Ms Kingma’s graciously intimate conversational elegance captivated me so, I often felt the book had been written expressly to me. More than once I would have sworn she was actually sitting right next to me, reading aloud the charming interlacings of her charges, as though I was the only attending member of a local book club gathering.Make no mistake, despite the smooth, Sunday mornin’ rhythms of her writing instrument, her perspicacious vision, insightful wisdom, and exacting literary artistry deliver this enchanted heartfelt tale with great richness, replete with infinitely profound personal fulfillment.From Ms Kingma’s rich lodestone of literary pixie dust, real, true-life human experiences emerge and vibrantly come to life. She eloquently articulates their journeys so beautifully, their passions simultaneously resonate deep within the hearts and souls of the reader. It’s as though Ms Kingma is crafting a dimensionally metaphorical mirror, allowing us space and opportunity to more mindfully reflect upon our individual comportment. In my case, I have always been a little uneasy about addressing life’s final transition. After experiencing ‘Madame Métier’, I find myself heartened and unexpectedly emboldened to revisit those fears with greater courage, dignity, worthiness, self-love, and peace.Her players are alive, living and breathing real truths, amidst life’s unpredictable mélange of diametrically opposed human emotions. She illuminates tendencies to hold on to and embrace the familiar, while steadfastly resisting and disavowing ownership of their opposing counterpoints. You know the ones...those selfish, less flattering habits that we don’t often see and don’t want to let go of. We stubbornly react, shift into defense mode and rise up with over-sized emotional denials. Understanding blustery resistance is equally stalwart in its own truth, Ms Kingma nonetheless opens a door to grateful acceptance for what comes to us. She further encourages self redirection of our attention toward (cue mirror) further consideration and deeper understanding of what we feel, and who we need to be.‘The Magical World of Madame Métier’, as Ms Kingma’s first published foray into the realm of fictional writing, is a literary and spiritual masterpiece for the ages. Her seamlessly fluid renaissance tableau is composed of timeless relevant wisdom, visionary insight, spirituality and love, and will forever serve as enlightened compassing for this man’s navigational guidance throughout my continuing odyssey of personal human conditioning.

I’m a fan of Daphne Kingma’s. I have her named in my Hero’s Gallery on my website. She’s a queen of true love who charms me whenever I hear her speak, and that winning warmth comes through everything she writes.When I started reading this book, I got nervous. An editor somehow missed spelling and punctuation errors in the first two chapters. But, thank goodness, it was just those first two. “Just” isn’t right, since the opening of a book sets up your expectation, so, please, if anyone else is an English major, keep reading. Then, you will be undistracted from appreciating the unique book Daphne has written. As she is not your ordinary person, this is not your ordinary book; it lives in a world of its own and it was not unwise for her to have chosen "magical," "spiritual," and, "enchanted" as words to describe its contents.

I have just started reading and it is incredible! I do not think I have ever read anything like this story. I giggle and smile and am awed again at the beauty of the poetic writing and the soul that is infused into every work and phrase. I can only read a few pages at a time, partly because I am deeply affected by each page, but also, because I do not want it to end - and therefore go away! Later - I have now reluctantly finished and the story is still living within me. This should be on EVERY Best Seller list that exists. It is amazing. Daphne's writing is incredibly beautiful.
