I bought this as a recommendation in another review I read, and it did not steer me wrong. While no book will have every verb in the Italian language, I find this one very comprehensive. It not only conjugates the verbs, but gives several sentences with different tenses for each verb and the translation. That is helpful practical application in the context of sentence structure with articles, prepositions, etc. So you are actually learning to speak the language to some extent. The beginning of the book explains pronoun usage in context with the verbs, the classes of verbs, etc. The cd-rom in the back of the book brings this to another dimension. I consider this a valuable asset for the serious learner as well as the academic student looking to make it through the course. Definitely a keeper.

Excellent book
I'd read that this book was better than Barron's and I agree. It has good explanations of the tenses, with adequate examples. I like the layout of the conjugations in the format1st person singular 1st person plural2nd singular 2nd plural3rd singular 3rd pluralmuch more than Barron's listing, I find it easier to read. There's a lot more examples given of usage, idioms, and related expressions. The CD I thought was a bit of a non-event, rather boring, and the multiple choice answers fairly obvious, testing you more on your ability to be a good guesser than to actually have a deep knowledge of the verbs. I definitely recommend this book, but don't bother with the CD version.

Best verb book material. Poor Kindle implementation! This is a shame
I have purchased or looked at several of the Italian verb books. Unfortunately, this is the best verb book -- better print, better verb selection, more additional information. But it appears that it has not been updated since 2004, and that it is actually out of print, so that you now have to pay several hundred dollars for a paperback version.I have a print version in good shape but a little yellowed and dog eared. So I go the Kindle version. The programmers have done a terrible job on the Kindle version. All the information is there (obviously) but searches are difficult, you cannot print out a selected page, movement in the document is very limited. In short, a pdf of the book would have been much better. This is one of the worst implementations of a Kindle book I have seen!So I give it 5 for content, and 2 for usability . . . I give it a 4 only because content outweighs convenience somewhat for me. A terrible and unnecessary compromise.

The Italian verb to buy!
This is the Italian verb book to buy if you are going to pick one book. Terrific book!! Well organized, easy to read, very thorough, appears to contain all the verbs that you need. Book opens flat so that you do not have to hold it down. Great price. Highly recommend.

Great resource!!!
I bought this book to help me review for a big Italian test. I am already fluent in Italian and have previously used the 501 Verbs book. I think this one has the advantage of being more practical in the verbs that are given. Good buy, good price!!
