I purchased this to cut my own paper for paper quilling. I cut 24 lb Astrobright lettersize paper with it and it is perfect for that for cutting strips for paper quilling. The paper has to be folded in half lengthwise and strips needed for longer than 11 inches will have to be glued, but that is easy enough. Astrobright is not white core and is fade resistant and can be ordered on Amazon in packs with color assortments or single colors and I will try other papers in my stash to use them up instead of having to buy precut strips. New to paper quilling and excited to be able to cut my own strips.

I recommend this ONLY if you are shredding one or two letters at a time. It cannot handle more that 1 sheet of paper folded 1 time. The handle comes off easily. If you need something more substantial for a larger volume, I do not suggest this particular shredder. For the money is a good deal. I use it to shred newspaper for my compost bin. It would be very tiresome for office use.

My son loves shredding things, so we got him this. It held up for a couple months, until the internal blades worked their way apart from one another and stopped shredding. We got him a new one for his birthday, and recommended he stick to one sheet at a time to see if that makes it last longer, so we'll see.

It takes effort to turn the handle and you have to hold the lid down as there's nothing securing it to the container. Also the opening is shorter than a sheet of paper so you have to tear it into smaller pieces and only do one sheet at a time or else it won't shred properly

Handy for small desk paper. The handle comes off and on but shreds pretty well. It not to loud and not to big. Fits right on desk. Easy to take apart and it works just fine.
