I ordered these specifically because I rent an apartment that doesn't currently have central ac and wanted a way to make cooling my living more efficient with my window unit. I especially like that these are installed using velcro magnetic strips applied to the door frame. The curtains also stay closed via embedded Magnets that line each side. As you can see they're currently tied open with integrated velcro strips. There's also black flat tacks for securing to your door frame, but honestly I don't need them (so far). Overall I can say these have met and exceeded my expectations thus far. The next test will be how well they will help this room retain heat come Winter. Will update this review if there's any significant changed in quality.Update: This has also worked wonders for retaining heat from my electric heater. Keeps the room nice & toasty. Slight peeling away of the magnetic strip border and the top of the door frame. I just press it firmly back into place and it seems to hold for several weeks until I have to do it again. I suspect it's from the heat. Otherwise haven't needed the tacks yet.

It's great at what it does, the only issues is durability over time. I had one i had to return because it tore at the upper seem from the wind hitting it. When it tears its pretty much junk ! With the replacement I used spare tape to reinforce the vinyl to the sides. I like that no one can seen in, yet I still get natural sunlight in, and an open door feel. If I had to design it I would attach the vinyl to the sides via zipper, itd be much more durable to wind gusts, and children or pets running through it.

I got this thinking that some of the squares were clear. But after we received it we found it’s not clear at all. The light does come through for the most part. What I like best is that it helps help the heat in or out while leaving the door open.The bottom magnets tend to grab on to the metal door so I am regularly pulling it off and back into place. (I haven’t been able to train my dog to “close” this).I have a mesh screen version on another door. I wish someone would invent one that had both the insulated and screen options that could be interchangeable (without removing the entire piece). I do wish I could see through some of the insulated one so I could see out on to the patio without opening it and letting air in/out.

I chose the 36" door but have not attempted to install it. I will probably return it as while it does appear to fit, it is JUST BARELY wide enough. The top of the curtain is 37 1/4", as described, but that leaves a scant 5/8" on either side to secure the velcro to the door frame. I fear it will not be enough to keep the adhesive on the velcro firmly attached with frequent use. I just installed a screen curtain and was hoping this would be able to fit in the screen's position when the weather gets hot. It will not. It's simply too narrow to rely on.It does appear to be well made, though I think it may be a bit long for my door. I am not saying it is a poor choice. I am just advising that when choose this product, you not rely just on the door size. Take careful not of the dimensions shown in the descriptions and then measure the door AND the available surfaces' dimensions. I cannot attest to the installation features but it appears to have the identical installation processes on the screen I just installed, which was VERY EASY. The magnets on this unit appear to be the same as on the screen, and I am very pleased with how they realign. I expect that I would be as pleased with this unit. And using a continuous length of velcro makes it all the better. If only it were a little wider...

I use this in my unfinished basement to separate my shop area from the rest. Super easy to install, fits well, strong magnets, but easy to break through. It looks great down there, but I’m not sure how I would like it in a common area of the house.

Three weeks ago I had this open to let in 70 F air. Yesterday I went to close when the blizzard was coming. Even though the door was closed, I could feel cold air coming from the glass. The second I closed the cold oppression stopped. It blocks both sun and heat in summer and cold in winter.

I got it for my Mother and it works great...
