31 Cute and Fun to Color Fox Designs by Marjorie Sarnat – printed one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. I own several coloring books by Majorie Sarnat including a couple in the Creative Haven line. I was really happy to pick up her new coloring book which is inspired by foxes. I really enjoy coloring foxes with their lovely fur, pointed noses, and large, fluffy tails. Ms. Sarnat's designs take advantage of all of this cuteness and takes coloring a fox to a new and imaginative level. As with her other coloring book designs, the 31 designs in this book are detailed with lots of swirls and twirls (though not with extremely intricate and tiny elements to color.) There is simply so much to color and to spark my imagination. My current favorite is an homage to my days of learning to type “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. Long hours of practicing typing that phrase was never so much fun as coloring Ms. Sarnat's cute design. This is what I saw while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium. I will list, in the comments section below, the coloring medium I use for testing and for coloring.31 Cute, Imaginative and Detailed Fox Designs by Majorie SarnatThe designs are printed one side of the pagePaper is the usual Creative Haven quality: white, medium weight, slightly smooth and has perforated pages.Glue Binding but with perforated pages so removing a page is fairly simple. The designs stop well before the perforationsAlcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based markers bleed through in spots and show colorful shadows on the back of the pageGel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page. India ink pens can bleed through when I apply more than one layer of ink.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. I was able to get good color, layer the same color and multiple colors and blend easily using a pencil style blender. I tested both oil and wax-based pencils with similar results. Hard lead pencils, like Verithins, leave dents on the back of the page.I suggest either removing pages from the book to color or using a blotter page under your working page. I like card stock as it keeps ink from seeping through and damaging the pages below.

Marjorie Sarnat does it again! What a whimsical, fun, book!
If you love Marjorie Sarnat's other books, you will love this one too! I don't think that you particularly need to like foxes to really enjoy this book. This is just a fun book to color.Like all of Creative Haven coloring books, the art is printed single sided on medium weight white paper. All of the pages are perforated for easy removal (which I love, being a lefty. Makes for much easier coloring.). If you don't remove the page to color it, I would suggest putting a blotter page behind your artwork. There are 30 foxy pages to color. They range from mandala type of artwork to an "indian" fox in a canoe, a steam punk fox, a fancy dressed lady fox, to foxes leaping with dolphins! Be aware that there is a lot of detail in these pages. If you dont like detail, this may not be the book for you. I would estimate that most pages will take 4 hours or more to complete.Need less to say, like Marjorie's other books, this is lots of imaginative fun! Happy coloring!

Perfect for a fox lover!
Pages are printed on the fronts only, so thats a huge plus! It is not the thickest paper, but its not thin either. I use pencils, so there is no risk of bleed through, but if you are using markers, you may want to put a sheet behind the page you are working on. The pages are detailed, but not so much that it is miserable to color. There are a great variety of styles. Everything from celestial, to runes, to floral, and some illumination styles too! Highly recommend this book!!!

Works beautifully with art markers
I bought multiple of these coloring books to give out as Christmas presents. I was worried that the paper wouldn’t be strong enough to handle markers, but they were. The girls loved receiving these books for Christmas, and I was surprised that out of all the gifts they received that morning, mine had their complete attention all day long as they colored in beautiful pictures. We all had a lot of fun coloring on these pages. I’d highly recommend this brand if coloring books, they’re beautiful and easy to color in.

Fanciful Fun
I own most of Marjorie's coloring books. Creative Cats was one of my very first books and I still love it! Now Fanciful Foxes is becoming a great favorite too. Theses animals are beautiful with so many wonderful designs incorporated in the scenes. Marjorie is a master at creating intricate and delightful books for us to color. The pages are perforated and only printed one one side of the page. I usually tear mine out to work on them but I always have a blotter paper underneath anyway. I like to use markers. The hardest part is picking which page one to color!

My Favorite Book
This is by far my favorite coloring book so far. I have only been coloring for a few months so I son't have a lot of books but I love this one and I will probably buy another one. I would recommend this book to anyone if you are just starting out or are a seasoned colorer these pages offer lots of different pictures and beautiful foxes.

Wow, this is a thing! Who knew?
My niece specifically wanted a coloring book with pictures of foxes for Christmas. I was kind of shocked to find exactly that, but I'm sure glad I did. I guess an appreciation for foxes must be a thing. I had no idea. Anyway, the pictures are really pretty and unique and I will get some major cool points from a little girl on Christmas, so I am a happy customer!
