Fans for hands
To keep sun out of eyes when husband drives me or while watching TV and sun so bright. Thought holes in it would not work but they still do.

They don't move air enough to be a fan, but paint them and use them as wall art or to accompany an outfit. Just don't depend on it as a fan.

Not sandalwood
This sure doesn't smell like sandalwood. In fact, they smell like nothing at all. The panels are thicker and longer than I'm used to from the most common true sandalwood fans, even if the etch design is consistent. Feels like they did a switcheroo with a cheaper softer wood.The panels are held together with fishing line (pretty standard) but one of the three it came unknotted. It was a pain in the ass to reknot it by hand so kudos to whoever does that from the manufacturer. Ended up using a lighter to melt my shabby knot together.They're cheap though and I just sprayed some perfume on mine as they were just party favors anyway.
