Perfect for total security
If you do everything on your home/office computer then this device is perfect for your peace of mind knowing your more private information is secured. I especially when I get a report from my Interprovider and Norton Antivirus that our Modem was hit/blocked with over 300 attacks in one month. This caused me to purchase this device and remove all my family/business documents on this device. I love the fact that no one can access it unless I unlock it and when I leave my office or if I forget to lock it when I leave the house. I can just use my phone to lock from it anywhere. It's easy to setup and yes you need your cell phone to unlock the device. Think of it as a 2nd Authentication you use for your bank or email accounts. With the need of a 2nd device to verify you wanted to open/unlock your files you know not just anyone can gain access to your personal information. My only recommendation is that they provide a longer cable for Desktop users where the USB ports are on the back of the PC and with their provided cable the device will hang unsecure. Unlucky for me I had an extra port on top of my PC to allow me to plug in without having it hang off the back. I used the box it came with to create a buffer away from the PC. Two Thumbs up!

Great Drive
I'm sharing my feedback because, like many or my work associates and friends who daily push huge amounts of data and large files, I'm always looking for efficient tech solutions. I have been using this drive for a few weeks, with no issues at all. I do not have any high degree in computer technology or IT, and I was able to set up my ArmorLock drive and have it working in 15 minutes. It's a fast backup storage solution that is secure. As another reviewer wrote, definitely save the recovery codes! Which is easily done. I backed them up on my desktop and in an email. Also, before buying this drive I called Western Digital for more information, and they provided great customer support.

Not worth the headache
This is a great idea in theory but execution is TERRIBLE. The armor lock feature should be able to be turned off and the app developers need to fix some serious issues and bugs before you sell this to another working professional. I have wasted so many hours of my life and my energy trying to connect these drives. Not trying the first time, but trying almost every time I plug the drives into my computer. Forget about trying to give this drive to an editor or to a client because they will never get into the drive. Sure they are very fast but I've wasted so much time connecting these drives that it ends up being slower that a 7200 rpm drive. Save your money and buy one of the other SSD drives without the armor lock.

HATE IT!!!!!!!!!
I still have not figured out how to get this to work. You must have a Computer Degree I assume it is above my head and I work with Computers daily. I even had my friend who is very Tech Savvy to try and help me make it work and he gave up! I had planned on sending back but time ran out. At this point such a waste of my money not to mention frustration.

Beware of Armorlock!
When you get a new phone, restore your phone, or delete armorlock app you will lose the connection to your drive. Save the recovery key in a safe spot bc if you make the mistake of losing it on a backup drive there is no access to your drive. I lost everything bc I had no clue restoring from a backup to my our phone breaks the connection to the drive. Armorlock seems awesome but I lost everything to this stupid idea.

Zeeeero PC App Support
Seriously? Only apps made for Mac, Android and iPhone? How lazy does the developer of this drive have to be to not sell a universally compatible drive? Now I have to explain this to the heads of major company who invested in these that we made a huge mistake going with SanDisk. What a joke and headache!
